Only in New York: The New Hublot King Power 692 Bang
The city that never sleeps meets the watch brand that never rests: this week, fresh from serving as official timer of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Hublot launched a new limited-edition watch that will be exclusive to its flagship New York City boutique, the Hublot King Power 692 Bang. The Hublot King Power 692 Bang, limited to just 26 pieces, made its debut at a cocktail event held at the brand’s Madison Avenue boutique that featured Champagne, hors d’oeuvre and music from local New York DJs Sabrina Burda and Natalie Doge. The watch, which has the traditionally large King Power case, here made of microblasted black ceramic, sports a black-and-yellow color scheme inspired, Hublot says, by the iconic New York City taxi cabs that line the busy streets of Manhattan. The caseback of the Hublot King Power 692 Bang is inscribed with a sketch of the Hublot Madison Avenue Boutique’s facade (the “692” in the watch’s moniker signifies the actual street address, 692 M
Seiko Astron Solar GPS Chronograph Limited Edition Styled By Giugiaro Design
Over the last few years here?at?watches-dealer,?we have been closely covering?the interesting developments of not just smart watches, but also of GPS controlled watches. One of the?most important models C and in fact trend-setters C is the Astron line by Seiko. We have, of course, covered the original in 2012 (hands-on here), and?since then, we have also?checked out the new-for-2014 C and quite striking-chronograph version as well (hands-on here).?For 2015,?along with six new non-limited versions, the chronograph line is extended by the Seiko Astron Solar GPS Chronograph Limited Edition styled by Giugiaro Design. The name Giugiaro Design, or Giorgetto Giugiaro?may sound familiar to those with a more extensive interest not just in watches but also in cars: he has designed instantly recognizable and unique cars like the?Audi 80, BMW M1, Lancia Delta, Bugatti EB118, along with dozens of?others. He is, however, not just a car designer, but?also an industrial designer, and as such, he?first

A Time Capsule - Omega Speedmaster - The Story of the First Watch in Outer Space
Well, my watch collecting began many many years ago, around 1994 when I bought my first 'nice' watch, a TT Sub with blue dial. I kept that as my only watch for several years until IWC's caught my eye. Got myself a Flieger 3706, a 3713 Doppelchronograph, and an Aquatimer 3536. Anyways, I spent a lot of time at AD's, just browsing, and collecting all manner of freebie brochures etc that they were only too willing to hand out. I then sold all those watches so that I could buy a house. Many many years later, in 2012 in fact, I re-started my watch collection again, and having acquired 5 lovely Rolex's, am now ready to explore some other brands. I have an AP RO on my wishlist, but also an Omega Moonwatch. I've always wanted one of them, either the 3570.50 manual wind Hesalite, or a 3572.50 or 3573.50 with a see thru case back.Anyways, as I was thinking about Moonwatches this afternoon, I suddenly remembered something an AD gave me for free many many years ago. As soon as I got home, I hunted
Incoming 5980
Hi all, very excited to be getting my first Patek tomorrow . A black dial 5980 stainless steel. It's been my grail watch for a few years, and with the news that its being discontinued I wanted to get it whilst I could - unfortunately that meant selling my collection of 3 Rolexes, so for the time being at least it will be my one and only! Will post some pics tomorrow. Any advice to a Patek newbie would be gratefully received
