Breitling super avenger bracelet removal for a leather strap
Hi, I have changed a few straps on other brands. Has anyone tried it on the super avenger? What's the trick? Thanks.
Speedmaster Professional strap wearers
I have a new Speedy Pro inbound, and wanted to ask you guys with straps if you prefer the standard clasp, or a deployant?Looking at all the pics posted in this forum, it's hard to tell what most of you guys are using. It appears that the deployant would be far easier to get the watch on and off, and cause less wear to the strap. However, I don't know if it is comfortable, secure, etc.Any help would be appreciated, ready to strap it on!Oh, and a HUGE thanks to Fr. John+ and his AD. Quite easily the most pleasurable and hassle-free watch purchase I have ever made.
Advise on a serious trade for a 5131J.
Hi there guys hope you are all having a great week..Being an airline captain I have been a very keen admirer of the World Time 5131's and have tried like crazy to get hold of a 5131R and even wrote personally to Mr Stern, to which he replied personally via fedex but unable to help me.Just wanted some advise as I have come across a 5131J like new not sealed. Would you trade a 5980R and 5712 which I bough double sealed plus 36K USD for a 5131J. OR 5980R + Rolex Smurf 166619LB (3 years old) plus 46K USD for 5131J.Looking fwd to hearing from the more experienced collectors if the above deals are worth it and do you see the 5131J appreciating in value in the future to justify this trade? Looking for GMT Master II
Hello AllI just joined the forum and am looking to replace my GMT I (SS and Gold, Black bezel, Jubilee bracelet) that I had bought used in 1991. I was mugged in December while in Buenos Aires on business and am looking to replace with the Master II, model 116713 (SS and Gold, Black bezel). I'm seeing prices all over the place on the web, both new and pre-owned. My insurance company could have replaced it for $10,591 but Rolex required the serial number, which I didn't know and had never written down. So I'm on the hunt for a replacement. Any thoughts as to new vs used? Best price? Reputable dealers/sellers? Any info would be appreciated.ThanksShawn
WG or Plat DD 36?
Probably going to pull the trigger soon on a 118239 or a 118206 either in addition to my 18038 or in lieu of it. Will be pre-owned. Price difference depending on the dial is about 25-30% for the platinum. I know this isn't an investment, but if I'm going into this arena, want to make sure I make a good buy.Love the fluted bezel on the WG, but love the subtle sheen of Plat. Anyone wanna share thoughts? Also, trying to do the Tahitian MOP. Is that popular?P.S. Does fluted bezel make watch look bigger on wrist? I can rock a 36 but I don't want to worry about it looking diminutive.
