Linde Werdelin Tattoos The Oktopus Moon Watch
Earlier this year, we brought you word?of a new model from Linde Werdelin, the Oktopus II Moon. ?Today, we've got word of a new version of that rather interesting watch, and it's quite a fun twist, one that I'm partial to and that being engraving. ?Don't get me wrong - the luminous, hand-drawn moon phases are a very fun addition. But, when I see artistic engraving taking place on a watch case however, that's what I'm drawn to, given its relative rarity. The case starts out as a standard Oktopus II case (44 x 46 x 15mm), but made from 18k rose gold - then it's handed off to the engraver. ?This is why this watch is known as the Oktopus Moon Tattoo - the engraving on the case itself very much carries the look of an ink tattoo. This is the second event "tattoo" watch that Linde Werdelin has created, the first based on a similar watch, the original Oktopus watch. From a straight-on view, it actually looks like the engraving appears to be subtle. ?Turn it to catch the light, though, and the be
New RGM North Pointer Professional GMT 254 Watch
RGM makes watches in Lancaster County,? Pennsylvania, which is a hub of American watch making. In fact, the majority of hands-on watch making that occurs in America today is in, or near Pennsylvania. A fact that strikes me as curious given the remote nature of some of these towns, but makes sense if you compare it to fine German and Swiss watch making towns. You'd be surprised to know that most of the independent watch makers in Germany and Switzerland are based in old farmhouses or alike building in tiny rural areas. take the famous Glashutte region, which is basically a one street village. I don't know why this is, but it must mean that watch makers don't like to be bothered. Thus, you'll find a lot of homegrown American watch making in what is essentially Amish country. Go Figure.RGM is a special watch company in America because they produce one of the first American made watch movements to have been developed in a long time. This movement is not in all of their watches, as they mos
First Rolex Purchase (Submariner)
Im looking at PXing my Seamaster for a Submariner on Watch finder but i'm not to sure what its worth. Its a 2010 Seamaster 300m model 2221.80 Quartz, blue face. Can find similar online for sale second hand but not this exact model. Anyone have a rough idea of what i could expect to ask as a trade in price? Thankyou
Speedmaster of some kind. Where to begin?
Hi All,I've been bitten by the Speedmaster bug. I've acquired a few Rolex pieces from trusted sellers on TRF, and will likely be doing the same to acquire a nicely used Speedmaster. Only problem is, while I'm fairly educated on Rolex models, I have no idea where to begin with Omega. Pricing seems to vary wildly for a used Speedmaster (between $1600 - 4800USD). I think my budget is around 1,500-3000. A little help would be appreciated.1. What models to consider? (I'm not a fan of the newer 42mm size, so vintage might be best)2. Is my budget reasonable?3. What to look out for for a first time Omega buyer? Thanks in advance
Planet Ocean 2500
I tried a Planet Ocean 2500 at a Omega boutique store, and I nearly took this one home today. Cooler heads prevailed, as I need to make sure it's what I really want. The model I tried was the non orange model with a waterproof leather strap. It was also the 41.5 mm model, which did fit me very well. The only thing stopping me from the newer 8500 model is the price and the thicker size... For those of you with a P0 2500, please post photos and contribute your thoughts to the this enabling threat, as I might head back to the Omega boutique store this week....
