Marc Michel-Amadry Appointed Managing Director of Sothebys Switzerland
Marc Michel-Amadry has been named as managing director of Sotheby's Switzerland. Mr Michel-Amadry will divide his time between Sotheby's Zurich and Geneva. Sotheby’s said the re-establishment of a pan-Swiss management structure reflects the growing importance of the company’s business in Switzerland and will enhance its ability to provide client services. Michel-Amadry joins Sotheby's from his position as President and Creative Director of Ebel and Concord, two brands at Movado Group Inc. He began his career at TAG Heuer, where he gained international experience working in Singapore managing the marketing of the brand for the Southeast Asia region. He was then appointed to his first senior leadership role at age 31 as General Manager of LVMH Watch & Jewellery, also based in Singapore. Patek Philippe ref. 5104 Brings $576,000 at Antiquorum Sale
On Thursday June 10 bidders watched as Antiquorum’s New York Spring Sale generated $4,511,268. The auction room was filled and 420 bidders registered online. Eighty-three percent of the 364 lots offered were sold, and 114% were sold by value based on the low estimates. Bids came in from Italy, the Netherlands, China, Israel, the Russian Federation, Japan, and the United States. The highlight of the sale was a Patek Philippe ref. 5104. The platinum minute-repeater with skeletonized dial (lot 363) had not previously been offered for sale, and it included the original fitted winding box. Following competition among room, online and telephone bidders, it went to a private collector for $576,000. The pre-sale estimate was $500,000 to $700,000.A 1946 Patek Philippe ref. 1518 with perpetual calendar, chronograph and moon phase (lot 362) sold for a very strong $282,000, well above the pre-sale estimate of $150,000 to $200,000.Patek Philippe references 3970 (lot 359, below) and 5970 (lot
Thoughts on 15300OR
What are you thoughts on the 15300OR black or white dial model? I prefer the black personally but looking more on feedback from owners or previous owners of this model. Don't see many pics or comments of forum. Can it be dressed up and down or its too flashy? Seems resale price of a MINT one is in the same range as the SS 15202 Jumbo. Also which would you rather have, this vs a 15202 jumbo at the same price. FYI. I also have a 5711 and a Rolex sports model in the collection but I like all my pieces to be versatile. I have some hesitation. Not sure if it's too dressy.
Sword hands on PO
Has anyone ever changed the arrow hands on the Planet Ocean for 2254-style sword hands? I've seen a PO2500 bezel on a 2254, and that looked awesome. I can't help but think the PO would look great with swords.
Help me ID this old Omega
Can anyone shed some light on this watch? It came to me via an uncle but nobody seems to know age nor value. Thanks, Mike
