The Zenith Elite 6150, A Classic Offering With 100-Hour Power Reserve
Zenith is in it for the long haul here at Baselworld 2015. At least that’s what one can deduce from its latest offering, the Elite 6150. The Elite line is Zenith’s slimmer, dressier offering, and with the 6150’s more-than-100-hour power reserve, it’s almost guaranteed to be an enduring benchmark. The new Elite 6150 comes in a 42 mm stainless-steel case – a size that Zenith plans to make standard for the line. The case is polished throughout with tapered lugs that hopefully make this wear smaller than it is. The main attraction is the silver-toned dial. Speedmaster Classic back from servicing-finally!
I brought my watch to my AD and it was sent to the New Jersey Service Center. It took five weeks to get a price for servicing and just one week short of four months (including the five weeks) to get the watch back. I was beginning to get concerned, although I read on one of the forums that the centers had an unusually large number of watches in for work. In any event, I've got to say that the finished product is awesome. Despite being about twenty years old, the watch came back looking brand new. Everything is working perfectly. I couldn't be happier! For those who may be interested, the watch was in excellent cosmetic condition when sent in, so no major items needed repair or replacement. In fact, I understand that this was basically a disassembly and cleaning only. The cost was $614 which I thought was reasonable, especially considering the complications that are part of this watch. Here are a few photos:
