Jaeger-LeCoultre Climbers Scale Himalayan Peak
They made it! On October 28, the climbers reached the top. Stphane Schaffter, a Swiss alpinist, Lhakpa Tenzing Sherpa (known as Apa Sherpa) who has a record 19 Everest ascents under his belt, and Little Karim Balti, who has accompanied many sportsmen on expeditions above 8,000 meters, scaled the virgin peak, and as the first to the top, they named it Antoine LeCoultre's Peak. The mountain raises 6589 meters, or 21,617 feet above sea level. They were each wearing a Jaeger-LeCoultre timepiece: a 1958 Geophysic Chronometer, a Master Compressor Extreme Lab, and a new and as yet undisclosed extreme creation prepared by the Manufacture workshops in the Valle de Joux. Their watches performed admirably in the challenging conditions. You can read more about the expedition at the Jaeger-LeCoultre website. Here are some images from the expedition:
15300 Price from Trusted Seller
After taking advice from the knowledgeable people here, I have decided to go with the 15300 instead of the 15400 for my skinny 6.3inch wrist. Only problem is that finding one seems to be a little difficult. Just wondering if DavidSW or Takuya is able to source one and about how much does the 15300 go for?
Just got my Chronomat GMT!
Very awesome watch. Very big. I am just barely able to pull it off and so happy that I could do so. I used to think my Panerai was a giant compared to my other watches and now this dwarfs it. Nice and heavy. Also great that it uses the same strap size as my Panerai since I have a bunch of extra straps sitting around.
Omega deserves an A+ for customer service
I recently acquired an Omega Seamaster GMT. Anyway several weeks ago I wrote a letter to Omega Customer Service.Yesterday, I got a surprise in the mail.An A4 envelope all the way from Switzerland and it cost over 5 Euros, those Euros are expensive too Omega were kind enough to send me an original of the COSC testing results on an authentic COSC sealed certificate. The certificate was presented in a clear plastic sleeve and with a backing card, so it arrived in mint condition all the way to the bottom of Down Under It is a bit difficult to actually work out how good the results were in comparison to other movements, but they look pretty good to my untrained eyes.Anyway, it is an outstanding jesture of customer service for Omega to do this without charge. It does add a great compliment to the watch especially for the enthusiast.I'm sure that if another company put there mind to it, they could somehow also do this for their enthusiasts, particularly as the 'credit card' lacks the imprima
Diamonds on a GMT
Doesn't adding a diamond bezel take away the functionality of the watch? I keep seeing Rolex GMT II watches with the ruby and diamond bezels and find it confusing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
