Zenith 2010 Watches + CEO Jean-Frederic Dufour Interview
I had the pleasure of sitting down with Jean-Frederic Dufour, the CEO of Zenith, on his visit to Los Angeles to present the El Primero Striking Jean-Louis Etienne, a special edition chronograph honoring the Arctic explorer of its name. The event took place at Westime in Beverly Hills, an influential watch boutique and one of Zenith's authorized dealers.A charming man spring-loaded with enthusiasm, Dufour loves to retell the story of the beginnings of Zenith when Georges Favre-Jacot at the age of 22 invented the modern manufacture with all the specialties under one roof. Dufour is proud of the fact that Zenith started as a true manufacture and still is to this day, making all their own parts, including hairsprings, and even residing at the same address since 1865.Dufour has only been overseeing the company a little over a year and his main objective has been to bring back the true brand identity of Zenith, which he defines as a pioneering spirit. Xemex Concept One Chronograph Watch
It feels like it has been a while since we have seen something totally new from Xemex. The last few years saw increasingly up-market timepieces from Xemex as the Swiss watch market kept getting stronger. We all know what happened recently and this new Concept One Chronograph watch is going to be quite reasonably priced. It does beg the question if Xemex's Ruedi Kulling decided somewhere in the design process that an up-market watch would not have as much market appeal these days, and decides to place a quartz movement inside instead of a mechanical movement. Who knows, but it is a good speculation. The quartz chronograph movement is likely a Ronda, as Xemex has been known to use their movements in the past. The functionality is simple and straight forward, but it is the interesting design direction for Xemex that interests me. The entire watch is focused around the asymmetrical case, with a lot of it leaning toward the pushers. This concept is not new (though it is for Xemex). Asymmetr
some clarification?
been looking at pictures of the a ROO 25940SK.OO.D002CA.01 vs a ROO 25940SK.OO.D002CA.03 umm...for the life of me I can't figure out what makes the difference between these two watches, could someone clarify the finer points I'm not catching?
not sure how this happened but im in!
AP Diver fits so nice
5712 ordered
Placed the order today, for the 5712 SS, should be here when I come back to Paris end of September, very excited Of course this means that I will need to flip a few pieces to keep a normal financial level, but I can sell them after getting the PP, so no hurry there.Decided I prefer to have few watches than many, especially some haven't gotten any wrist time for a few months. Will be selling 2 Panerai, 233 and 28, possibly also my 82 shadow case, very rare watch, as well as my Blancpain, they should arrive next week, which should leave me with my PP, Rolex Daytona 116515, sub C LN and BLNR.Am even thinking of selling my Daytona rose gold, I know it's a beautiful piece, but I rarely have the occasion to put it, Paris or Odessa are not the best places to be going around with a gold watch, in 1 year we are going to live in Thailand, even though the criminality is very low there they are very good at steeling gold chains or watchesIf I sell the Daytona would probably buy an Aquanaut SS rubb
