Everything on this watch can be operated from the Crown, there is no buttons involved, as is often with watches of time for the world "Cottier-style". Tempest Carbon Review
It wasn't long ago, a few weeks in fact, that we took our first look at a Tempest watch, the Commodore. Right out of the box, it impressed me with its thoughtful design and great execution. The fairly modest price of $638 for an all titanium diver with a solid titanium bracelet was impressive too. To which I responded, yes.What arrived was the new Tempest Carbon, a watch that is going to turn a lot of heads. As you've probably already deduced from the pictures, the case of the Carbon is… well, forged carbon. This is a material I've yet to encounter in the 3.5+ years we've been running worn&wound, at least not on an accessibly priced watch. RG 44 chronograph broke... any thoughts?
So my RG 44,which is 3 1/2 months old broke today. Obviously I'm sending it in but figured i would see if anyone has any thoughts on what happened. The watch is fully wound and works fine until i use the chrono. The chrono works until the 30 minute mark (specifically about 10 seconds short of 30 minutes) and it stops. It also completely stops the rest of the watch as well. I reset the chrono and the watch is still frozen. I unscrew the crown and pull it out until i can engage the time setting and then reset the watch to the correct time, screw the crown back in and the watch starts again and works fine. It does NOT start working on its own though, but only after i pull the crown out, and reset the time. No winding required though. This pattern has repeated itself 3 times in a row, and the results are exactly the same. My understanding is the chronograph module is on top of the regular calibre 3120. If they are basically separate pieces then why does a malfunctioning chronog

5711 as a full-time, all-day, everyday wearer?
Good day everyone,I've been struggling lately about a decision between a 5711 and a DD40 YG silver/roman.Truth is I prefer the 5711 but it's important to me to be able to wear a watch all-day, everyday, all the time. The DD40 is probably more durable etc (although the WR of the 5711 is 120m v. the DD40 is 100m).I'm a one-watch guy (except I wear a BR 03-92 on strap mostly in the winter).I wear a TT ceramic sub at the moment (which i'm going to trade). I sleep with it, shower with it, splash around at the beach, take it in the pool, wear it to yoga, etc. I wouldn't obviously re-pave the driveway wearing my sub (or any watch).What do you all think? Would I be expecting too much from the 5711? Is it too fragile? Am I putting the 5711 in too much danger of needing service (which I understand could take upwards of a year)?Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences.Mike

Original lug dimensions - are they available ?
The top question about pre-owned 5 digit Rolexes seems to be is it polished or over polished ? Has anyone taken a dial caliper and measured and posted original factory lug thicknesses? Would make the over polish question answer more objective and less subjective. Hard to tell anything from pics most of the time.
