Antiquorum’s Geneva Sale Brings World Record
Antiquorum’s May 10 Geneva sale realized SFr. 6,520,180. Of the 331 lots, 80% were sold, representing 134.62% in value. A Patek Philippe Ref. 1436 (lot 161) brought the highest price of the day. The stainless steel split-seconds chronograph, one of only two stainless steel split-seconds watches known to exist, sold to a European collector for a world-record SFr. 1,244,800 after fierce in room and telephone bidding.Another rare early Patek Philippe split-seconds chronograph retailed by Tiffany (lot 329) brought SFr. 606,000, and a Patek Philippe Ref. 5016 (lot 331), with a unique dial achieved SFr. 696,000. These two pieces are shown below.Other notable Patek Philippe lots included an “Oversized Stainless Steel”, Ref. 570 (lot 157), which sold to an Asian collector for SFr. 60,000, and the Pocket Watch (lot 160) Ref. 605 HU (Heures Universelles) which went to a European aficionado for SFr. 56,400. A white gold Patek Philippe, Ref. 5041G (lot 244) reached SFr. 108,000.B

Omega are advertising the planet ocean loads on UK TV at the moment, not just as a sponsor but a proper commercial.
Double Red spotted!
Hey all!I was strolling through the city today and happen to walk by a storefront with a lot of vintage watches and happen to see a double Red Sea-dweller! There were actually 2 in the case, one of them being a patent pending caseback. I stepped in to see the watch and was amazed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Datejust II vs Datejust 41 (Side by side)
I am interested in the White Dial DJ. My local AD only has the newer 41 version but I have been searching the net all day to find a true comparison of the differences. I have seen many comparisons of the 2 models but with different features, colors, dials, numerals, etc. Does anyone have both (in the exact same configuration) to post a pic of the 2 side by side. Is there a picture out there on the net that can show the difference of the same models side by side? I cant find one and want to see both next to each other to compare the differences.it seems there are avid fans for both versions so I'd like to research a little before pulling the trigger. Thanks in advance.
