Will the 15202 complete my collection
I have been thinking the past week or so wether i should pull the trigger and go on a full hunt for a steel 15202 but, i also was thinking do i actually need a 15202 when i have a 15300. I know a lot of people would say 5711>15202 and 15202>15300 but i already have a 5712 and a 15300 and atm the 15202 is my grail watch, just not sure if i should get a 15202 or go for another AP out there. My high end collection atm is a 5712,5164 and 15300 (have 3 more but they don't fall in my high end section). If anyone out there has a recommendation on my next AP the max budget i am willing to put on an AP is $30k USD.
Speedy Pro chrono function slows/stops the watch
Hi Guys,My Speedmaster Pro moon watch (saphire sandwich) kinda crapped out on me this morning. I haven't worn it for a couple of days, although I kept it wound (I was rotating it with my datejust). I put it on and started the chrono function and it got to about fifteen seconds when the whole thing ground to a halt! It's fully wound and if I start it now it'll run, but cause quite a substantial amount of time loss (approx a minute or two per hour). I can see the balance wheel slows when I start the chrono, and then speeds up when I stop it.The watch is a 2009 and hasn't been serviced yet, although I probably only wear/have the momement wound for six months out of the year.My suspicion is that the lubrication is failing causing more frictional losses in the gear train, and when the chronograph starts its too much for the main spring and it slows/halts the movement. What do you all reckon? Has anyone had experience with this kind of issue before?Cheers,Duncan.
Incoming PO....
Just picked this up today. It was not too tough a choice between the chrono and non chrono. For me I didn't think the chrono was worth the extra 2k and I already have a nice Breitling M1 SuperQuartz. I am also partial to the sweep second hand....Sorry for the crummy photos. I know my skills are inferior in that regard, but the watch is really quite nice looking.
Lange Dato Perp vs. Patek 5170G
Now that the Basel novelties have been released and there hasn't been a 5170 in platinum (blue dial?), I'm ready to move on one of these beautiful chronographs that I've had my sights on for a while.5170G Black dial or the Lange Dato Perpetual in White Gold with the grey dial. Regarding the price difference, it's not as large as would be expected as I have a nice deal lined up on the Dato. What say you?
Question about Patek servicing in the UK
Hi,I've got a couple of questions about Patek Philippe servicing in the UK, and hopefully someone here can give me some pointers. I've heard conflicting things about how long a PP service can take, generally. Could anyone let me know what the current typical service turn-around time in the UK is for a time-only manual-wind Calatrava (5119, 3919, that sort of idea) ? Secondly, what's the average final price for the servicing of the same, assuming no out-of-the-ordinary work is required ?
