James Bond’s New Watch: The Omega Seamaster 300 “SPECTRE” Limited Edition
“Does it do anything?” “It tells the time. We know you have trouble with punctuality.” So goes the exchange between James Bond (Daniel Craig) and Q (Ben Whishaw) as Agent 007 is handed his newest Omega watch in the 24th Bond film, SPECTRE, which opens this week.Omega has been the watch of choice for James Bond since 1995, when Pierce Brosnan strapped on a Seamaster for Goldeneye. The Swiss brand has released a commemorative 007 timepiece to coincide with each subsequent film, but this year will mark a first in Omega’s partnership with the Bond franchise: Omega will release a limited-edition version of Bond’s movie-worn watch (which does, in fact, do something other than tell the time, and actually plays a key role in a pivotal scene) an Omega Seamaster 300 on a black-and-gray NATO strap. The Omega Seamaster 300 “SPECTRE” Limited Edition has a 41-mm-diameter stainless-steel case with brushed and polished finishing, and a bidirectional rot
At The Intersection Of Watch Lover And Asshole
Gawker blogger Hamilton Nolan once again recently waxed poetic on his love of hating assholes. A January 2013 Nolan opinion piece is one that made me chuckle more than once on his rather astute observation that "assholes love watches." Pointing out this fact, he then asks the rhetorical question of why [do assholes love watches?]. Though he doesn't leave the reader without at least a theory. About two weeks later the site posted an article titled "A Dozen Watches That Cost More Than Your House." That sounds like just the sort of article that would attract none other than the asshole Nolan was irritated with. And he was irritated. The familiar venom in his voice was no doubt livened by some recent encounter in New York City, where many a watch-asshole lives. People say that many a Wall Street man has that sort of "money is a reflection of how good a person I am attitude." The
Dive watch under 3k
I am looking at getting a new dive watch under 3k. I am looking at a Breitling Superocean II 42mm and an Omega Seamaster Diver 300m 212.30.41.20.03.001. Am I missing a better option for my price range?
Vintage? Anyone seen this one?
Any ideas of age?
SD43 or SS Sky Dweller
I have the SD43. It's a great watch and I like it. Comfortable, durable and modern.Next month I have the chance to get a SS Sky Dweller but unfortunately finances won't allow both watches.I had the opportunity to try on the Sky Dweller recently and it has really caught my interest.I would be very happy with either - what would you choose?SD43?Sky Dweller?
