Watches NEWS
Issue with a seller need advice on AP ASAP
I need everyone's advice since this hasn't happened to me before on TRF. I put down a deposit on a watch that needed to be polished 2 weeks ago and the seller told me it would be ready Monday. I txt him Monday and he responded by saying the watch had gone for a polish. I paid \\$500 to secure the watch and I'm still waiting I've seen other AP's n been approached by multiple sellers to buy. I have sold many watches on the forum and beyond. I don't like making my people wait for their watches. At the least I keep them updated on progress nothing from this seller? I'm sick of waiting and he hasn't been in contact which is not making me happy. Also he is having the watch polished from a non AP service center and I don't know if they will ruin the case and bezels sharpness as the dent was minor but it was on the bezel and the edge of the beveled part in particular! What should I do?.......wait or ask for my deposit back and call it quits? I understand he is busy but jeez send me a mess
Dislodged crown and stem
I decided to give my Panda wrist time last night after sitting in the box for 6 days. I gently pulled the crown to adjust the date and time and to my horror, the whole stem came with it. I put it back in the case hole and tried to pull it back again, the crown and the stem simpyl slid off. I wasn't able to sleep because of this and would probably have nightmares when I bring it to the AD for repair. Will it be an easy fix or a burden to the pockets? My 2 year warranty expired last year and just applied for the 3rd year after reading the threads this morning.
Gift 5711, something seems off, but not sure what.
Hey all, First the story- I was asked what I'd like for my birthday and I said a blue dial 5980, because why not aim high? Disappointingly, they don't know any better and went for the 5711- a fine watch no doubt, but a bit boring. At least they were able to find a brand new one. Anyway, as with any shady Got this as a gift, is it real? story on here, it is not for sale (I am obviously looking to sell it, please PM me before any experts come in and out me) and just wanted to make sure that it was the real deal as the box was just a white cardboard thing. The crown seems SLIGHTLY different than what I've seen, but I think that small manufacturing variations are normal. I love the way that the dial glows over the bezel somehow. Can somebody explain the manufacturing process? Anyway if anybody has a serious offer, I'm looking for a 5980 and can send some cash your way. Comes with 8 paper plates, 1 knife and 8 forks.
Casebudi recommendation for submariner
Hi all, was just about to purchase a normal size casebudi for my lvc but on reading reviews someone mentions getting the small version for Submariners.Confusingly, reviews for the normal size casebudi also say perfect for Submariner so does anyone have both that could help? I have a sub lvc on a 7.5 inch wrist
Triplock water resistance question.....
Hello everyone here at TRF! I had a Rolex water resistance question I wanted to get your thoughts on.I have always been believed that models with the Triplock crown system were water resistant to a minimum of 300m (i.e. submariner, SeaDweller, etc). Conversely, those with a Twinlock come with 100m water resistance (DateJust, Oyster, Milgauss, etc)Assuming that is true (and that may be an erroneous assumption on my part), why does the Yacht-Master....which has a TripLock crown come with only 100m of water resistance?Anyway, just curious. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
