Temption Cameo and Fortis Square Watches - Square Off
Temption and Fortis are two admirable watch makers who share nary a sneer or historic competition.? Interestingly, they now have what I consider to be closely matched competing watches with the new Temption Cameo and the Fortis Square. Through what I believe might be no fault of either company, a battle between these watches now ensues for a leader of this micro niche (or maybe I am just egging on a fight). What is the niche you ask? Well just compare the properties and design of these two watches and you can see what I mean. The Temption Cameo and Fortis Square are both (approximately) 39mm wide and high - steel - square-cased watches with round dials. Each primarily arrives with dark brown leather straps, and have dark against white colored faces. Each has a shaped rear on the watch case to better fit to your wrist. Each contains a Swiss ETA automatic mechanical movement with a sapphire crystal caseback window (an ETA 2892-2 in the Cameo, and an ETA 2836-2 in the Square, though a chro

Speedie - 4 yrs or 35 yrs old?
Hey all, i recently purchased a 2003 Speedie Pro which arrived yesterday, however to my dismay the condition was not as described bhy the seller (came covered in scratches, looked to be a daily beater on a building site. I contacted the seller and will be getting a full refund so whilst licking my wounds yesterday i began searching for a replacement and have been offered the following:Old:Year: 1976 (birth year)Model: 145.022Cal: 861Bracelet: 1171Condition: A1, just been serviced and is in perfect conditionAdditions: boxed but no papersNew:Year: 2007Model: 3570.50Cal: 1861Bracelet: 1998Condition: Excellent, some marks on claspAdditions: boxed with papersGiven the choice, which would other members go for? Both are priced roughly the same, is the fact the older one is a birth year makes it too hard to resist or should i place safe and go for the recent example with added papers?Any input is greatly appreciated.

Help! Crown won't wind - stuck in time set mode
Hi guys,My Pam (calibre OP1) has a winding issue. The crown is stuck in the time set mode (can only move the hour and minute hands), so I cannot wind the watch. Furthermore, the watch is not keeping time because the crown is stuck on the time set mode, so it's essentially dead. Anyone experience this before?Unfortunately, I just purchased this second-hand watch and am pretty upset. And yes, I've reached out to the seller. Any insight would be appreciated.
