How Facebook Fans Designed A Unique Rpaige Watch For Auction
Did you ever try to get one of the big brand watch companies to make a watch just for you?? Well, they do...but for a price that would make a colossal hangover seem like distant bells ringing. So, when my watch company's Facebook page, Rpaige Watch Co., reached 5,000 likes, I decided that it would interesting and fun to celebrate the milestone by having my Facebook followers, and visitors, collectively design one of my watches...then auction it off.I had no insights or expectations as to whether it would be a success or failure, and that really wasn't the issueI just thought it would be a fun for them and a great promotional event and fun for me.Here was the original post of the contest:I'd like to invite all of you in designing a new Rpaige Wrocket watch that I will auction off on our Facebook page when it's completed. Here's how it will work:1. The group picks a case material. either Steel or titanium2.The group picks a dial from several that I'll post .I can post up to 20 dials3.
Before Making Your Next Watch Purchase, Ask The Manufacturer How The Watch Was Produced
When thinking about how our watches are made, we tend to all have an image of a little man sitting at an oddly shaped table toiling away. This man represents the dedicated craftsman that we would like to think is taking full responsibility for the quality and accuracy of our beloved timepieces. The truth however is that only a small number of watch companies employ this craftsman manner of production. While it tends to yield a higher quality product in the end, it is not efficient.Henry Ford showed the world that using the concept of interchangeable parts combined with the production line, you can enjoy the benefits of industrialization through far increased productivity. While this concept has helped shaped the world we live in and enjoy, it is not necessarily the best manner of producing watches you pay top dollar for.You see, a craftsman making watches goes through every step of the process to put the watch together. From assembly of the movement, to decorating the face, to placing

Seamaster links?
I received a very nice seamaster pro chrono today. I had a buddy looking for one and I was able to source and aquire it for him. The only issue is, even though the watch came with boxes, manual, etc, it did not come with all the original links. My friend has a fat wrist. I am hoping you guys can point me in the right direction on purchasing 2.5 links. This is his first watch purchase that isn't a timex and it was sad to see his face when he realized that the only way it would fit him was to have the dive extension out. Thanks in advance guys and attached is a pic so you know what bracelet he has.
Buying an unsealed watch
To the knowledgeable PP lovers-I'm purchasing my first Patek and have a question. Is there a difference in purchasing a double sealed piece versus one that is already opened and available for trying on? Is there potential for a discount on a piece in the showcase versus a sealed safe queen? To clarify I'm buying from a PP AD. Thanks in advance.
