The Return of the Turtle: Seiko Brings Back a Classic
When it comes to the world of vintage divers, Seiko sits at the top with some of the very best. That's no exaggeration. Few brands can boast a history as storied as Seiko's when it comes to divers, a history that began in earnest in 1965 when the brand released their first dive watch, the 6127 (62MAS). In the decades that followed, Seiko would build upon this legacy with the 6215 (and subsequently, the hi-beat 6159)Seiko's first divers rated to 300mto be followed by the 6105 (made iconic on Martin Sheen's wrist in Apocalypse Now), the 6309/6306, and the 007the current benchmark of affordable divers everywhere.? And the above list simply scratches at the surface; Seiko's historical catalogue of divers goes deep.source: WUS In recent years, Seiko's vintage divers have gained a relatively robust following. Or rather, that following has become more mainstream, since it would be unfair to discount all the Seiko diehards who have loved the brand and its watches long before today's vi
First AP will be a 15300 - Silver or Blue?
I'm sure you have all heard this story before but I come from years of Rolex and Panerai and had the chance to try on a friend's Jumbo. It has somehow burned it's way in to my mind and I can't seem to get rid of it. His piece is the 40th 15202ST.OO.1240ST.01.If I'm totally honest, the 15300 is a more palatable way for me to move in to the world of AP based on the price difference between the 15300 and the 15202. I've run across two opportunities to pick up a 15300 one of which has the silver dial and the other has the blue dial. Two questions for you:1. Will the 15300 feel as magical as the 15202 did? (No watches near me to try on.)2. Would you choose the SILVER dial or the BLUE dial? These threads usually drive me crazy because the answer is clearly which ever one speaks to you. The issue is they are both speaking to me and I would like to know which is more popular with you AP experts. Thanks!
Is this a reasonable price for a speedy 9300 strap?
I found a seller of an oem 21mm croc straps for a speedmaster with caliber 9300. He is selling it for $400. It is supposedly new.Is that price below Msrp at an AD? I don't have any AD near by but I'll be taking a trip in 4 months where there will be an AD I can visit.I already have the oem deployment. If you are wondering :)Thanks for any advice!
Patek Nautilus choices : 3712 or 5726?
If you had to choose only one , would you choose the beautiful 3712 or the useful AC 5726 1a? Heart or brain? let me know.Fabio
Starting new year with PAM560!!
Hi guys, just got my first Panerai and after lot of back and forth went with the new 8 days movement and base model with cleaner dial. The watch looks great and love the rubber strap feel on my wrist. I was more of Radiomir over Luminor type of guy but eventually converted to Luminor watch style; maybe will get Radiomir someday but for now here is my PAM560!!Just some quick pics for now!
