Ernst Benz Releases The ChronoDiver Thinking It Is Being Innovative And Unique: It's Not
Ernst Benz is like an estranged cousin of Panerai with little bloodline connection. It makes a heap of really large watches with "instrumental" appeal, but unlike Panerai, the watches typically suffer from being appropriate without being very unique. Oh, and they are overpriced, in my opinion. The newest from Ernst Benz is the new ChronoDiver collection, with a name as dry as the watch themselves. There is actually nothing at all wrong with the watches. They are a pretty good emulation of a theme. That theme being the diving watch chronograph. The thing is, for the over $5,000 retail price, where is any character of innovation? You get a 47mm wide case, a number font that looks to be Ernst Benz-ish, and perhaps come concentric circle texturing on the dial. Otherwise, we've all seen this design hundreds of times before. So what gives? Ernst Benz did need a diving watch for their line up. Practically everyone does, but this effort just seems a bit rushed to ask such a price for such a sta

Suggestions for Patek Service...
Hello,I am contemplating my next large purchase by looking at Patek reference # 5119J from the Calatrava series. My question relates to service. I will most likely buy used and wondered what to expect for a typical service from Patek? Also curious if there is a well known option for service outside of Patek that is reasonable and provides excellent quality work. My main reason for the inquiry is I anticipate the piece I purchase to be outside of the warranty window should any issues arise. Any suggestions are appreciated.Thank you!!!
Radiomir help please
Looking for some knowledge on the Panerai Radiomir if you can help.Seriously considering buying a Radiomir and would like one that best compliments my Luminor 005 Base. However, I'm lost with all the model numbers past and present. Hoping someone can help. What I'm looking for (don't know if it was even made) is a straight plain dial hours/minutes only, solid caseback, ETA based movement, and I prefer a sausage dial to a sandwich.I've found the 210 and 380, but neither has everything I'm looking for, but they are close. Is there a Radiomir model out there like this? Also I have a dozen or more straps for my 005 - even though I understand the Radiomir straps are tapered would any of my existing straps work in a pinch? I kinda think they might not with the Radiomir wire bars and stainless tubes in my existing straps.Appreciate any assistance and thanks!
Peter Gunny strap for the 422
This was the other strap I ordered for the 422. Picked it up on s Black Friday deal. Peter's straps are more rustic than Aaron's but softer/more pliable. Excellent quality.
