Richard Mille RM039 Aviation E6-B Watch
Richard Mille has once again broken new ground in luxury. Doing what no one else could do, they have done the unthinkable.matched a tourbillon-based movement with a slide-rule bezel. Such passion! Limited to just 30 pieces, less than three dozen lucky souls will have the comfort of flying high knowing that Richard Mille is in charge of their most precious aviation measuring and calculating needs. Thanks to the new RM039 E6-B the prayers of all pilots have been answered. The busyness of a slide-rule bezel is only matched by that of a Richard Mille exposed watch dial. Together they are like watching a Tokyo street and subway system somehow intersect. Ironically based on the Richard Mille diver watch collection, the RM039 is meant purely to be used above the ground. In fact, if I may offer my advice, it probably isn't safe to fly without the E6-B flight instrument timepiece.Calling it luxury isn't fair. This is just the price of quality measuring instruments if Richard Mille has anything t
Premium ($ or %) for tropical dials?
Is there a standard premium $ (or %) for valuation on tropical speedmaster dials?I know Tropical is very subjective. One person's tropical is another person's degradation, aging and mildew. In my eyes, attractive tropical is uniform dark brown / chocolate color on the dial, and hands that match or complement that dial
Exceeded my expectations!!!
I've been thinking about the 5711 for ages, hoping to see it in the flesh at some point, but never did. Finally took the plunge after much enabling from you guys. Was very lucky to find one at my local AD. I rang the London boutique out of curiosity to see what their take was regarding the 40th anniversary and whether I should wait? Their reply was that I was lucky to be offered a 5711 in blue,,,they have a 3 year waiting list and their opinion was that Patek purists would see the current 5711 as more desirable than any future 'upgrade', although they had no knowledge of what may be launched in November. Their gut feeling was that the most likely scenario would be a new complication. Anyway,,,back to the watch, I arrived nervously at the AD and was presented with the 5711 in its vacuum packed box,,,initial impressions 'ok' viewing it through the plastic. However, on opening the box and removing the watch, I was grinning from ear to ear and will even admit to feeling a little emotional,
Cut the seal: 5270g
After a few weeks of viewing the 5270g through the plastic while it sat anxiously in the safe (that was a test of one's patience!), today I finally cut the seal, breathed in some fine Geneva air, and strapped it to my wrist. It's truly sublime, and the blue is just mesmerizing and dynamic. Here are a few pics (I love the hint of red shown via the 4 representing the Leap Year). Thanks for looking!
