Marvin Launches Sebastien Loeb Collection
Marvin Watch Co. has partnered with seven time World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb to launch a limited edition collection of chronographs designed by Loeb. Available with automatic or quartz movements and black or white dials, the Sebastien Loeb collection incorporates automotive-inspired design details to combine the performance of world rallying with precision Swiss watchmaking. The 44mm stainless steel case features articulating lugs mounted on spring suspensions, allowing the watch to adjust to the contours of the wrist for maximum comfort. Loeb designed the dial to reflect the dashboard of his rally car. The black PVD chronograph push buttons resemble foot pedals, and the hands evoke a rally car's reinforcing bars.Paying homage to his seven world championship titles, Marvin's Sebastien Loeb pieces are available in a limited edition collection of 777 pieces. The automatic-winding chronograph features a Valjoux 7750 movement which is visible through Marvin's signature skeleton caseb
My Modern Design Classic Watches Article On AskMen.com
This is a good article to read for anyone who has an interest in design classics as well as a bit of history behind them. Watches are a range of items that have many classic designs. These designs fit into two areas, ones that are classics because they look good, and others because they function well. The best designs do both. I wrote this article as a preview of a new line of books from Phaidon Press, and covered just five of many modern design classic watches that will be featured in the upcoming books. The focus here is not just on watches that have classic designs, but ones that fall into the realm of "modern design" classics. I had to choose carefully, and there were a lot that deserve to be on the list, but visit the link to read about five that easily deserve mention.Read my Modern Design Classic Watches article on AskMenwatches-dealer here. Technical Perspective: Ferrari Formula 1 Engineer Disassembles A Heuer Caliber 15 Automatic Chronogr
Automatic chronographs are wonderfully complicated movements, and the race to produce the first ended with the announcement of the Chronomatic in 1969. This movement was used by Hamilton, Heuer and Breitling (to name just a few) all the way into the 1980s. Recently we were pointed to a fascinating article on OnTheDash detailing the disassembly of a Chronomatic Caliber 15, complete with scans of the official service manual. Even more interesting is who wrote this article: Gianluca – an Italian Formula One engineer for Ferrari. Check out the article on OnTheDash. 1 OF 1 Heuer Monza chronograph, powered by the Chronomatic Caliber 15 movement. ADVERTISEMENT
