My first experience with APSC
I am always worried when I have to send a watch to the manufacturer for warranty or repair work as somehow things just never come back perfect like they should... but I've only read fantastic things about APSC and my steel diver needed to be sent in for various reasons. My steel diver has been running fast since the very first day I received it... never sent it in since I was too worried that fixing that would mess something else up. I also noticed that the inner bezel of my diver had a defect, it didn't align perfectly with the hour indices on the dial (misprinted). And finally, just before I sent the watch in, I noticed that the inverted triangle at 12 o'clock had a pit or hole on the lume... so I decided to send the watch in to take care of all these issues under warranty and to get my 3rd year warranty extension.I emailed them a few times to confirm their address and response was quite good. They also sent me an email once the watch arrived and it contained a document stating the c
Thinking of flipping the 15400
A bit of background, I have been downsizing my collection lately to put money into my apartment, it is the only debt I have and I want to be debt free by year end.Over time I've had many watches from many brands, too many to list, at one point I had 10 in rotation. I have downsized to what you see in my signature and am thinking of selling the Vulcain and Panerai. That would leave me with four, three actually because the Santos is an 80s two tone model that I don't wear, it belonged to my late father so I will keep it forever. I will get something else to have four in rotation, been thinking of getting a SubC (owned one at one point) and I was just offered a very nice GMT coke from 2001 in pristine condition. Now to the real issue, as much as I like the 15400 it really doesn't fit me right (even after getting a 1/2 link), a 15300 I used to own felt much more comfortable and the size was just right. So, since I am not putting more money into watches for a while, after selling the two, I
New PO 45.5
Having just sold my Breitling Navi World (I could not tell the time the dial was so busy) I picked up my new PO today here in Santa Monica from my AD. Should have gotten this watch before the Breitling, better late then never however.
New Straps for my PAM 000 from The One and Only Gus/Subtona!
I've wanted for sometime now to add other straps for this was and my PEPSI but just now getting it done. I've really admired Gus's straps on his 000. When I inquired and one I thought looked really great he got back with me right away but he also mentioned he'd sold the watch and had some bands he'd consider selling. I bought 3 of the 5 even though his 7.5 wrist is a bit bigger than my 7 wrist. The band actually could still go one smaller so I'm very happy with the fit. I'll work on getting pictures with the other bands but this is the one I put on first. image.jpg
How do you photograph your Rolex?
Without buying specialty macro lenses for a Nikon SLR, anyone have any tips on how to best photograph a watch you want to offer for sale? I can never seem to get the detail sharp enough compared to many shown here.
