Historical Perspectives: Ten Out Of Production Watches That Offer A Ton Of Bang For The Buck
Last year I put together a list of 10 vintage watches that I genuinely believe(d) should cost more than they do, for a variety of reasons. You can read it here. Today, I will take a look at another sector of watches with the same pervading thought: these watches deserve to be more expensive than they are. But today, I'll be looking at modern, but out of production, watches. What I mean is that these pieces were designed in the modern era, with the help of CAD, and modern production technologies, and in many cases they offer a tremendous amount of watchmaking firepower. But, for some reason, they just don't cost that much (relatively speaking). Here are 10 modern, but out of production watches that offer a lot of horological bang for the buck. 1. AP Diver Curiosity...
Hey Guys,Just out of curiosity, how does the AP Diver 15710st compare to a Rolex Submariner in terms of ruggedness for daily wearing, perhaps one and only. I know the Submariner is much more service friendly. Thanks!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
AP Diver Back from Playa del Carmen, Mexico!!!
If I wasn't able to convince you of getting an AP Diver with my thread at the Cayman Islands, I hope this one does. If I still don't, at least I know you would want to go visit Playa del Carmen and stay at the luxurious all-inclusive Grand Velas (where we stayed). Now, when I say 'all-inclusive' it is not what some of you might be thinking. This is a grand class all-luxury 'all-inclusive' that only serves premium liquor, high-end cuisine a la carte (only one out of seven restaurants is a buffet) and a very strict dress code at all restaurants where no dress shorts or open shoes are even allowed. Not to mention their Spa, which is one of the best in the world.Very few of you know that I am originally from Mexico City and that I grew up between Mexico and NYC. Going 'home' always puts a big smile on my face. To be quite frank this is our second time at Grand Velas and no other place we've stayed in the world beats their hospitality, service and level of cuisine in just one place. Believe
Connecticut Service Center returned scratched my watch
Hi,Just want to share my experience and frustration.I bought Colt 44 in July and the movement had issues. In November I took it to the WTC boutique and they sent it to the SC in Connecticut.6 weeks later I got it back with scratches on the bracelet, side of the case and lower part (4-6) of the bezel. Naturally, I complained but was told that it is my fault. The center does not have any pictures of the watch before service or after service.... The best they offered to rectify this was $180 charge for polishing. Is my experience unique? Any advice? Thank you

The explorer and Panerai wearer Mike Horn’s yacht is in Singapore early next month. The OP boutique are hosting a cocktail evening for some clients with Mr Horn as an incredibly special guest. I’ve been invited. I fly home a week before and head off to the States a few days later. I’m going to miss it
