Christie’s Geneva Sale Realizes Over $21 Million
Christie’s Geneva sale of important watches generated an impressive $21,099,940, far exceeding the pre-sale high estimate of about $15.8 million. Nearly 370 watches were offered with 96% selling by value and by lot. The sale included “A Connoisseur’s Vision, Part II”, and along with the “Connoisseur’s Vision Part I” group offered this past November, the two sales represent the most important private Patek Philippe collection ever offered at auction, and the most expensive collection ever sold.The sale set an attendance record with 831 bidders from 5 continents. An additional 250 bidders participated online. The top lot in the sale, number 84, was a unique Patek Philippe ref. 1527 perpetual calendar chronograph with moon phases produced in 1943, and at $5,708,833, it set a world record for any yellow gold watch ever sold at auction. Hublot King Power Knockout World Boxing Council Watch
Boxing seems to be the sport flavor of choice for many watch brands in 2012. You know it is serious when Hublot gets into the game. Their focus now is on a limited edition set for the World Boxing Council (WBC). The game Hublot is playing is pretty interesting actually. Hublot will produce 12 unique King Power "Knockout" WBC watches. As I understand it, each will look unique and be associated with one of 12 "legendary" boxers.Each of the watches will be auctioned off for charity, and the winners will get the watches presented to them by the boxers themselves. It would be more fun if it also included a few round in the ring with them. From Rose to Gold...

Happy holidays TRF members,I have been searching for my first Rolex watch that I can wear daily. As a banker and a lawyer, I wanted a dressy yet a casual watch that I can wear without worrying too much about getting scratches. The DJ 41 TT (the Wimbledon ) was what I wanted and purchased it at a great price while I was on a family vacation in Taiwan last week.This watch is very comfortable and I am satisfied with the purchase. My previous daily watch was a Tag Heuer Indy 500 and I still love the watch. It is a tank!!!I am happy to finally joined the TRF club!
