IWC Announces Updated, Smaller Ingenieur Watches
Did you get your fill of pilot's watches from IWC in 2012? Good, as they have directed their 2013 efforts towards the Ingenieur and have launched a series of new models that commemorate their historic line of anti-magnetic watches that were originally designed for duty on the wrists of French engineers (le science!). The new Ingenieur models include both three-handers and a selection of chronographs. Here we will take a look at the three-handers, in which IWC has announced two very different Ingenieur variations. The first, and possibly most surprising, is the new ref 3239 Ingenieur Automatic which is built around a comparatively tiny 40mm platform. Most modern Ingenieurs are 46mm wide (and fairly tall) but this 40mm version returns to an old-school sweet spot and is a cuff-friendly 10mm thick. The underlying message here is that IWC wants to offer up some competition to the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and Patek Philippe Nautilus. As I've never really taken to the trend of large watches (
What makes a AP ROC so expensive???
I've always loved the design of both the 39mm and 41mm ROC. I think they're amazing looking watches. This is not in any way me trying to bash the watch. It's more of a try to justify a purchase. Here in Sweden it's about $ 25k. So what do I pay for? 25k, that's a fairly large amount of money. I know it can't be the movement. Because its a F.Piguet (Swatch). I know its a good movement. But its also used in omegas that cost 1/5 of the AP (from what i know) Sure it's a very nicely finished watch. But 25K?If the ROC had one of those amazing AP movements with a display to look at it through, together with that fantastic bracelet and case finish I would understand the price. So what do I pay for. Just finish and a AP logo? Sent from my iPhone 6 using Tapatalk

What are anyone's experiences like with the 42mm PO Ti? I guess part of this question is, how much difference is there between the 8500 movement and the 8900 movement as well? Thanks, your thoughts are appreciated.Don

Landed: My Wife Loves A Rose
Mrs. Wildcat465, in spite of her vast trove of sparkly trinkets that would make any spoiled princess envious, would not stand for my grail's arrival without having a little something for herself. When reminded that she already has a YG ladies president showered with diamonds, she made me understand that old bauble is of little consequence since that acquisition was made almost one-half score ago and it's much too small for her big eyes. She insisted...no, demanded, that she needed something rosy to match a ring that she purchased not three weeks ago. So, here is the blossom that she picked. (Unfortunately <insert her pouting face here>, it missing diamonds on the dial. So, I'm scouring the world trying to find her a rose diamond dial. Can anyone help?
