Watches NEWS
Decision has been made!
I have decided to let go of only 1 ROO (the Panda) and keep these 3. Now just waiting for the CE Diver to arrive later this week. Thanks everyone for your great suggestions. I will be very happy to keep 4 Offshores in my collection.
My first experience with APSC
I am always worried when I have to send a watch to the manufacturer for warranty or repair work as somehow things just never come back perfect like they should... but I've only read fantastic things about APSC and my steel diver needed to be sent in for various reasons. My steel diver has been running fast since the very first day I received it... never sent it in since I was too worried that fixing that would mess something else up. I also noticed that the inner bezel of my diver had a defect, it didn't align perfectly with the hour indices on the dial (misprinted). And finally, just before I sent the watch in, I noticed that the inverted triangle at 12 o'clock had a pit or hole on the lume... so I decided to send the watch in to take care of all these issues under warranty and to get my 3rd year warranty extension.I emailed them a few times to confirm their address and response was quite good. They also sent me an email once the watch arrived and it contained a document stating the c
First disappointing AP Clearwater service
I guess I've got to vent since I've been without my ROC for two months. I sent it in to Clearwater in October for a malfunctioning chronograph with a letter explaining the problems I was having. I was really excited to get a call from AP yesterday and even more excited when I came home from work to see the FexEx package sitting on the table. When I got to the watch, it looked perfect. But sadly, I'll be without it again for awhile because the hour hand of the chronograph still doesn't move despite a full movement service and $1400.The other disappointing thing is that on the timegrapher, it is running +10-12 sec/day. It should have been regulated and should be running at or near COSC specifications. Isn't this part of service? Now Betsy and the gang at AP have been wonderful to deal with and I know AP will make it right, but it is frustrating because after two months, the whole reason for which I sent it in was not addressed. The cynic in me thinks that the watch service industry
Question about the Royal Oak 15300
Hello,Is it possible to change a white dial at service to black or blue. If so do you know the aprox. cost for dial change incl. dial. What dial colour did the first series of the 15300 initially come with???The reason that Im asking is that the white dial, which I do think looks great, usually is the cheapest to get on a Royal Oak 15300 on the second hand market. The problem is that I have a White dial Daytona that I would like to keep like that...if you know what I mean. Thanks and have a good day.//Fred
Scratched my watch!
It had to happen!I don't mind the scuffs from desk diving but I finally scratched my PO - on the polished bit too. And of all the places in the world it had to happen - it happened - believe it or not, in Vietnam, whilst I was on holidays, inside a tiny tunnel the Vietnamese guerillas created during the War.Anyone else have some funny stories on where/how they scratched their watch?Sorry - cannot upload the damn pic... so will try again soon.
