IWC Portofino Hand-Wound Pure Classic Watch
Despite the latest?technical breakthroughs in forging new materials, creating new in-house movement designs, or manufacturing rugged watches for "ingenieurs," the general appeal?of simple and refined dress watches is something no?luxury brand can ignore. In recent years, IWC has been busy?restyling its Portuguese Chronograph (review here) and Aquatimer (debut article here)?collections, and now, it appears, the time has come to offer something "pure and classical."?So pure and classical, that IWC decided to add these phrases to the name of its new-for-2015 dress watch: the IWC Portofino Hand-Wound Pure Classic (reference IW511101 in red gold and IW511102 in steel). The dress watch is not dead: among fierce competition between luxury brands to create the latest, greatest, most complicated and most resistant (to whatever impact the wearer himself/herself could never possibly?survive), there actually?still is a massive market?for restrained and classical looking timepieces.?Clearly, the IWC

Omega Seamaster 2254.50 + Panerai = Winder Recommendations?
Hello everyone, Been a while since Ive posted but I am looking to purchase a Panerai Luminor Marina new within the next month or two. It will join my small collection so far containing one other automatic, my 2254.50. My seamaster was serviced by Omega about a year ago and given a clean bill of health and ive been wearing it daily since I got it back. I have never had to let it rest for more than a few hours at a time.Enter my next purchase, I am wondering how to go about buying a good quality winder that can hold 2/3 watches for under $600. I dont want to cheap out on a winder and eventually ruin my movements to state the obvious.. I have been reading here about winders and stumbled across the Orbita watch winder website and used their resource to determine my 1120 calibre movement can be wound bi-directionally and take a maximum of 650 rotations per day. Is this true? Call me paranoid but I am looking for others insights on this Essentially I am looking for any input on anyones succe
Sky Dweller or GMT Master II BLNR
Ok. Here's the thing.I have a DateJust 2 116334 with rhodium arabic dial. I have been thinking of late to exchange this (I can get between ?4k with the dealer (hoping for more as watchfinder offered ?4.7k) and purchase the SkyDweller White Gold (White dial). I would put ?2k down on this watch also, which would mean I would owe ?4k.Now, as of this morning.. things have become a little bit more complex! Ha!I've seen the GMT Master II 116710BLNR - thats ?6550. I could put down ?2k again and owe ?4.5k and thus in turn, have two watches. What are everyones thoughts on my dilema - I really wanted the SD as of this morning! LolThanks
