New Shoes for ROC
Finally did the conversion today! The AP leather straps are very comfortable to wear, and certainly change the look of ROC drastically in a positive way Had a hard time choosing the style of the straps, but finally settled with the safest and most classical black straps which I believe is versatile for all occasions. I got hungry
Sapphire sandwich...Aside from the 5517 Sub, the Speedmaster Pro (any version) is my favorite of all time.Around 11 years ago, I bought one used for around $1250 USD --and at the time, I didn't even consider it a great deal either! Now these retail for $5,500 US and easily around $3,000 used. Is it not comforting to know that despite the economic collapse and sky high unemployment, luxury items still continue to rise in price, huh?
Deployant buckle on 2007 vintage 5140
Can anyone advise whether the attached deployant buckle looks right for a 5140 made in 2007 ? It does not have the PP 'Calatrava' symbol on the ourisde. The watch is still sealed and the paperwork all matches up, so I have no reason to doubt its authenticity, but I equally have not seen one picture of a PP buckles without the symbol.
Are Panerai past peak in popularity or is the best yet to come?
Not looking to be provocative, just curious.
Ordering from an AD - DJ36
My fianc is quite envious of my new DJ41, and in order for me to justify a bluesy at any point in the next year or two I believe I'll have to get her a nice gift as well. Can also use all these upcoming life events as great justification. ;-)She's poked around on the Rolex website and is quite interested in the 116234. DJ36 with jubilee bracelet, white mother of pearl face w/bling inside.I feel like this won't be a common model to stumble across at an AD. How long would I need to expect to wait once ordered? Trying to build myself a plan around the timing...and how I plan to pay for all this.
