Five Reasons The Cartier Tank Basculante Isnt 'The Other' Reverso
They came out 12 months apart, both with rectangular reversible cases, and both constructed by Spécialités Horlogères SA. But different fates awaited the Reverso and the Tank Basculante. One spawned hundreds of models and celebrated its 85th anniversary earlier this year. The other would be one of hundreds that make up a larger collection, and would seldom be seen again. But it would be wrong to compare these two models on their success. We got our hands on a 1990s model to explain why. 1. The Tank Basculante Was Never Meant To Be A Collection 1 OF 6 Purchasing a patent is one thing. Owning it is quite another. While we are quite certain the Basculante wouldn’t exist without Jaeger-LeCoultre, Cartier’s “titling” watch is inspired by one of its own designs – and one that pre-dates the Reverso by some margin. Born in the thick of World War I and christened after one of its most terrifying weapons, the Tank is one of
Squint Omega Watch
Do you remember the Omega with the 12 o'clock at 3 o'clock ? I think Isaw it in the late 60's or early 70's and I can't remember what it was called.I couldn't afford it then and had to make do with a $15 Seiko , which I stillhave and is keeping great time, I am getting all nostalgic now. What was it called and does anyone have pictures?
Vintage Omega Information Needed
I have two vintage Omega watches and was curious if anyone had any specific knowledge of the approximate vintage and or model number for the watches. #1 - purchased years ago#2 - from grandfather - guessing from the 50's?? - obviously needs a correct strap - taking suggestions for a good source! thanks.
Question about face of watch on 2018 Submariner Date
Hi Guys/Gals,I just purchased my first Rolex! I went with the Submariner Date since I've wanted one for a LONG time, plus it's the most versatile watch on the planet. The only thing I don't like is that it's the most copied watch known to man, lol.For this reason, I chose to buy it from an AD (London Jewelers) so I can be 100% sure that it is authentic. My question is about the writing on the face. I noticed that the part where it says 1000ft=300m the = sign is tight with no spacing, but on Rolex's site, the picture of the Sub shows a significant amount of space between the numbers and the = sign. There is a video that I saw on youtube that shows how to determine a fake, and mine looked like the fake!!! (I'm confident that it isn't)My watch is supposedly a fresh batch 2018 watch. Did Rolex change the print style from 2017, to 2018 (and use the old photo on their site)? Or do they make several versions for the same year? Can anyone please explain why there are these differences in th
Questions on Bulk Rolex Order
Long story short, I'm considering at buying 7 of either the WG Oysterflex Daytona (ref. 116519LN) or the WG blue Submariner (ref. 116619LB) (and no, they wouldn't all be for me...). The first question I had was on pricing - it seems like 20% on PM models is fairly standard, but do you think it would be reasonable to shoot for more given the quantity that I'm buying? Also, I've wanted the SS Daytonas for quite a while and think it would be reasonable to ask to get both a white and black dial within a reasonably short timeframe (a few months). I haven't yet discussed this with the AD, but they know that I want a Daytona and said that an order like this would move me higher on the list. This sort of response shocked me a bit -- I feel like asking for both, let alone just one, in this scenario isn't that ridiculous, but I wanted to hear what you all thought. Thanks!EDIT: They don't have these in stock, but said they could order pretty easily with delivery in ~2 months.
