Found: The Watch That Would (Not) Be King: A Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Made For King Edward VIII
This vintage Reverso is one with a stronger than usual connection to history, and it's a memento of a crisis. Engraved on the back with a dedication to a king, it would never be worn by its intended recipient. It now reposes in the Jaeger-LeCoultre museum collection, a silent testimony to a moment when a king had to choose between a woman, and his kingdom.Edward VIII always knew his relationship with Wallis Simpson, an American divorcée, would make him an unpopular King. But the death of his father, King George V, precipitated his ascension to the throne on January 20, 1936. 15300 vs JLC Deep Sea Chrono + Reverso
I am planning on purchasing either a 15300 Blue Dial or the JLC Deep Sea Chrono + Reverso Grand Taille. My collection currently consists of mostly Rolex pieces. I have handled all of these watches, but looking for options from any owners.
Railmaster Rose Gold Limited Edition in local AD
Get a look at what I found at my local AD! This was massive in person and I was sorely tempted to try it on but we were in a hurry... so maybe next time I can strap this pie pan to my wrist and take a couple shots! The sales lady said I can get a VERY good price for it too Here is all the info I could find on this giant:Omega Seamaster Railmaster XXL Chronometer Watch, limited edition of 157pcs, 18kt rose gold case (49.2mm diameter), polished 18kt rose gold bezel, leather strap with 18kt rose gold clasp, black dial with luminescent index and Arabic numeral hour markers, small seconds hand at 6 o'clock, Omega #2201 manual-wind mechanical movement, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, water resistant to 150 meters.Anyone out there actually own one of the 157 that were made?
Back with a PAM 423
I have owned a PAM 90, a 140, and I just completed a PAM 423 purchase with Sean Landsnaes. Love the dial power reserve and the gold hands. Good to be back. Much larger than my Omega Speedmaster Date, but I like it and the new movement.
Advice on the daytona face
HelloI have sold my Sub a few days ago and am now interested in a Daytona. With my Sub. I had trouble seeing the time of night and I was watching the Daytona with brown dial and I have the same problem. Do I have to completely discard the black dial at the Daytona that I'm starting to look for? Anyone who already has the model with the black dial can advise me?Thanks friends.
