Contemporary Pop Art In The Alexander Shorokoff Lady Avantgarde Watch
This limited edition watch for women by German Alexander Shorokoff reminds me of my youth. Usually watches seem to remind other people of their youth, but when I saw this watch my mind began to wander to being in a kid in the 1980s and 1990s. No, not because I used to wear women's watch. It is the art.A large part of my watch fascination comes from being an art lover. Watches are art. They are tools first, but they are tools with artistic real estate. Appreciation of good design and quality aesthetics drives a lot of my commentary. This watch will repulse some and entertain others, but in my eyes it reminds me of cartoons. Back in the 1980s colorful geometric art became really popular. A lot of this had to do with the start of computerized design and graphics slowly taking over hand-drawn work. Organic lines started being replaced by straight lines, and the inclusion of computer graphics into the art world was rapidly taking place. In the 1990s this design aesthetic began to evolve into
Review of the Orient CFT00004B On WatchReport.com
The Orient CFT00004B is a handsome, semi-dressy sport watch which incorporates Orient's own 46R40 self-winding automatic movement. It has a great looking polished case and bracelet, a power reserve indicator, a slide rule, and an "open heart" skeleton dial that shows the balance wheel and the crown and stem assembly.Click above to read the full review on WatchReportwatches-dealerSee more automatic watches at Orient Watch USA here.See Orient watches on eBay here.See Orient watches on Amazon here.

Submariner no date looks dull with plastic on?
My perception of a new submariner no date would be that...it would look kind of shiny/gleaming. So when I went to take a look at it in the grey dealer I was pretty disappointed. It looked pretty dull/different from the pics I'm used to seeing at trf. Maybe it's cause of the plastic that it was covered with..not sure..Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
In honor my late father, my new Rolex
I'm not usually one who refers to certain Rolex watches by nicknames such as Hulk and Batman. But I now have a new piece in my collection that will proudly refer to as Kermit.I don't know why I didn't pursue one of these watches previously. I very much liked them but didn't see myself owning one. But after meeting a gentleman on a cruise ship recently who was wearing one and having a conversation about it and then also perusing the many photos on this forum and elsewhere for months, I decided I had to have one to join my GMT BLNR, Daytona Ceramic and SubC Date. So yesterday it arrived and I love it. I've had other Rolex watches come and go also, but this one shall not leave. So why does it honor my late father? Well, you see my father's name was Kermit. In fact, my middle name is also Kermit. So yes, this is definitely a watch I should own. It's an unusual name, yes, but a very personal name for me - not just a green muppets character. And when I wear it I will always think of
