Hublot's Tactic With The Blackeyed Bernie Ecclestone Watch Ad
The first thing that came to mind when I first saw this image in an e-mail from Hublot was "wait, what?" I didn't get it. What was this? At first I thought the image of Bernie Ecclestone was some type of painting. I?am not familiar with his face, but I do know of his work as the guy who runs Formula 1 racing. The British Billionaire's face was distorted with a painful looking black eye and other facial bruises. The 80-year-old was recently violently mugged, and among other things, his Hublot King Power F1 watch was stolen.None of this information was placed in the above image send out by Hublot. In fact, it is entirely cryptic in its messaging. The point of it is simple I think. A beaten up elderly man along with the statement of "See what people will do for a Hublot." Furthering the concept that the watches are so in demand, you'd punch your grandpa for one.Since the release of this image a few days ago, the media has been all over it. Mostly admonishing Hublot for its audacity and la
New Member sharing pics - Rolex Sub + Omega
Hello Everyone,I'm a new member on this forum and this is my first post. I have owned a submariner for the past four years and have enjoyed every moment with it. Apart from being such a classic it was MY first Rolex and will always have a special place in my heart. The first Rolex I ever bought was for my wife - a TT rose gold lady datejust. I fell in love with watches many many years ago. My first love was the Omega Seamaster which was out of my reach. As time progressed I graduated (in my thoughts) to the Submariner but thought I would buy the Planet Ocean as I knew that I would never be able to afford a Submariner. I remember the countless times I entered the showroom, tried the watch and leave without buying one. Anyways fast forward a few years I was able to buy two rolexes, first for my wife and second for myself. After the Submariner my desire for the Planet Ocean died but the Speedmaster entered my wish list. I wanted one on the leather strap as I didn't like the bracelet on th
Pam 111 AR Coating
Hello all, I have a PAM 111 M series, I know the watch has a single coating of AR but is it below the crystal or above? Im asking because Ive had the watch for 2 years now and I want to use the cape cod cloth to clean it up a bit and I don't want to touch the crystal and remove the AR coating. Thanks
Battle of DNA - 232 vs 372
Hi all,In order to fund the recent purchase of my ALS Lange 1 moonphase, I had put up my 390 and 232 for sale, leaving a 25 (unsellable for personal reasons) and a 372 in the collection..However they have yet to sell, and with a recent influx of 232 thread on P I'm starting to have hesitations on which to keep between the 232 and 372..So which would you guys choose between these two pieces? Keeping both is not an option unfortunately..
Happened before?
In the past, have the more experienced members on the forum seen prices for certain Rolex models go up drastically like they have for the LV? If so, have you seen these prices come down in the future? I ask because I love the look the of the LV, and want to purchase one. However, they are all above MSRP. I am wondering if the members on the forum have seen prices go up before and then eventually come back down, or do these generally tend to stay up. I appreciate any advice.
