Patek Sky Moon Tourbillon Brings $1.2 Million at Patrizzi Auction
A Patek Philippe Sky Moon Tourbillon in yellow gold, Ref. 5002, sold for $1.2 million at the Patrizzi & Co. auction in New York on October 7. This is the highest price paid for a wristwatch at auction since the beginning of the recession. The watch was purchased by a customer in Europe. CEO Osvaldo Patrizzi said “In the current global recession, this $1.2 million sale result is extraordinary. This auction demonstrates that while demand for mid-level watches for collectors is softening, extraordinary, very rare, limited-edition pieces are still in demand and in some occasions increasing in value.” Mr. Patrizzi also noted that aside from the Sky Moon Tourbillon going to Europe, the other top pieces in the sale went to bidders in Taiwan, Hong Kong and China. The second highest price was brought by a Patek Philippe Commemorative Minute Repeater, Ref. 5079-010, originally sold December 1, 2004. The yellow gold piece was produced in a limited series of 5 examples for the 50th
AP vs Richard Mille
Anyone watching the French Open Finals today? I see Nadal wearing his RM but can't tell the model, only that it has a red strap, anyone know which model it is?Guess Djokovic usually doesn't wear his AP during the match.Should be a great match-up!
My 5164A
It's now three months old and I've never owned a watch that I loved more than this one. Attaching a couple of photos. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thinking of buying a Patek Philippe 5726/1A-00
One of my local AD had one come in last week they've been holding for me (w/a deposit) and I'm having a hard to pulling the trigger. I've not purchase from them before. The AD I purchase my Rolexes and PAMs through has a 10 person waiting list for this Patek and told me it would be 2-3 years before I would see this watch. I trust them as I've bought many hard to get watches as one if their good customers (PAM 507 & 508)I called around to out of states ADs looking for the 5726 before I found the one locally, and all of them did not have one in stock and said it's difficult to aquire. This would be my first Patek and although I have spend more on only one other watch I have, not sure if I can justify the $44k price tag plus the taxes.Has others who have wanted this watch experienced the same challenge with availability? I love the watch, there's a simplisty to this gorgeous looking complicated watch and I understand the band to be extremely comfortable. Thanks for again for the fee
Nautilus P 3710/1A vs. PP 5711/1A?
Hi guysNew to the forum here and I wanted to seek your knowledge since I have a dilema. I am kind of leaning towards a Nautilus 5711/5712/5726 for my next purchase (still undecided) and for some reson stumble accross the Nautilus 3710. This model has been discontinued but still demands a beffy premium even in not so great conditions. My questions to you all wise gals and gents out there is this: If you could choose between them booth, and they where both new, what would be your choice? Also, wouldnt this old model start to fail more rapidly? hasnt technolygy changed? No crystal back on the 3710.I really apreciate your time and thoughts on this matter.
