The Watch vs the Car
I saw a post on here that raised an interesting perspective. Luxury watches vs a luxury car. As men we all tend to like or desire luxury items such as cars and watches to say the least. I wanted ask the question of which item is the better VALUE? Notice I did not say better price. I am looking to see if someone can express or quantify the long term difference between the two Luxury items. My 2 examples:1st A pre owned AP Carbon may cost between $19k to $33k. In 10years of average wear and servicing it will be worth how much? 2nd A pre owned Porsche 911 may cost between $45k to 75k. In 10years of average wear and servicing it will be worth how much? I hope I explain my questions to you guys thoroughly. I am in the process of buying a car and I would like to buy my first AP by the holiday time. I am thinking of buying a Porsche but I think long term the AP is a better value.Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
Aerospace Evo question
Hey guys, I was wondering what the EOL indicator does on the aerospace watch. Does it beep or flash? Just curious as I can't find anything on the internet. Thanks :)
Difference Between Seamaster300's
Can someone tell me the difference between the 2 Seamasters I have pictured below. One has a big triangle and the other doesn't. They are from the same year or within a year apart. I just purchased the one that DOES NOT have the big triangle. For what it's worth, The one I just purchased has been in storage for 43 years!!Thanks
First patek...thanks for everyone's help
Thanks to DavidSW, i now have my first patek! First, I wanted to thank you all for putting up with my questions the last couple of weeks, basic as they probably were. I've definitely appreciated all of the help, input, pictures, etc. etc. of this great forum. It is one thing to be knowledgeable about watches, but to also have the patience to help out the less experienced among us (myself included) really makes this site great. So, here it isI was going back and forth between the nautilus (5711) and royal oak (15300) for some time, but somehow ended up with an aquanaut, and couldn't be happier.I have only had the piece for two days, but here are my impressions so far:Positives:-Very comfortable, as most have already said. I was initially concerned about the rubber strap, but have found it incredibly comfortablesecond only to my speedmaster on a leather strap and deployant.-Under the radar, as most have already said. I've only worn the piece around for the last two days, but I don'
Patek Perpetuals ?
I have never been able to find a patek perpetual that I like because I really enjoy the seconds hand and do not like the retrograde date feature. Additionally, I do not prefer the manual wound chronograph perpetuals. That basically leaves me with no options.I used to have a 5059 and decided it was not for me. Please don't get me wrong ALL of the perpetuals are amazing. I know there are perpetuals/minute repeaters and rare vintages that have second hands but they are out of my budget. I have been using the annual calendar watches. I have 5 annual calendars (5960, 5726, 5036, 5056, 5125) now that I keep on winders. I look forward to changing the date every FEB-MAR but there is something very special about a perpetual calendar. Anyone have any similar perspectives regarding basic patek perpetuals?
