Oris BC3 Sportsman 42mm Watch
More relatively affordable Swiss watch action from Oris. New for 2010 is this updated BC3 Sportsman model in a 42mm case. This is about as no nonsense as you'd want to get with a watch, and Oris keeps all the functionality you've come to expect in this collection. For years that have been centrally aligning the day and date windows for a nice clean look. As you can see, at 6 o'clock you have two stacked windows with the calendar information. Done well with white text on black discs to match the dial. Hands are long and easy to read, almost as though the watch were a dive watch. The hands and some of the numeral markers are coated in SuperLumiNova for ease of reading. That combined with the well placed markers make this one highly legible watch. The Arabic numerals on the dial are polished steel, and applied to the dial.Oris watches never forgo at least some decoration. The 42mm wide steel case has a thin polished ring around bezel that matches the polished crown. The case design is fun
Recommend 3rd AP? To 15305,15707
Ok need to scratch another itch. I have the 15305OR and 15707CE. I wear the 15305 to work and evening outings. The 15707 is great for casual days with the kids, car events, sports outings etc. So I'm looking for a 3rd AP that could do a little of both, but a bit sporty. I'm thinking something in stainless steel or a combination with RG. Needs to be 42mm or less. Leaning towards a ROO?Sent from my Zeitwerk
9300 Movement Rotor
I own a Speedmaster 57 with a 9300 movement purchased from an authorized Omega dealer. When I turn my wrist I can hear the automatic rotor plate moving in both directions. Is this common and unique to the design?
Strap advice for slate dial patek, in particular 5146
I purchased a preowned 5146p from an AD this fall. It came on a grey strap that was too big for my wrist. I didn't like the grey strap anyway- it made the face look a little dull imo. As a temporary measure, they swapped the strap with a black one from another 5146p that fit better though was still too big, and offered to order 2 new straps of my choosing. For the first of my new straps, I opted for a matte navy blue. After a five month wait (!) since extra short is a custom order I got the strap fitted at Henri Stern today. Unfortunately, I don't love it, though I like it better than either the grey or the black. It looks much more grey than the samples I had seen and the watch face still doesn't pop as much as I would like. For my second strap, I am leaning towards matte chocolate. It seems to be able to dress up or down, while being a light enough color to allow the slate face to stand out. Thoughts? Any advice from owners of 5146G slate or 5146P would be appreciated! I
