Which Watch Brand Spends the Most on Advertising?
Watch?brands spent almost half a billion dollars on advertising in the U.S in 2013. The total was $492.68 million: a record high, and up 23.3 percent from the 2012 total. That figure comes from Kantar Media, which each year compiles estimates of ad spending for a range of different products. The figures for 2013 signal that the U.S. watch market is still growing, especially as Swiss luxury brands turn their sights back from China to this country.Last year was the fourth year in a row of growth in U.S. watch advertising. Sixty-nine brands spent more than $1 million on ads, a new record. To reach last year's top 25, a watch company had to spend $4.66 million. That's 28 percent more than it took to make the list in 2012.?Rolex continued to hold its spot at the top of the list. The brand has been number one since 2000, when it dethroned Timex. Last year, it spent $61.48 million, making it the first brand ever to exceed $60 million. Rolex beat its 2012 record of $52.14 million by 17.9 perce

Omega Case Restoration?
Hi All,I recently purchased a Speedmaster Date and just found a small nick in the side of the case. Are there any shops you would recommend to refinish an Omega watch case and return it to mint condition?I'd like to avoid sending it to Bienne or NJ considering it's just a cosmetic blemish as it's very new and doesn't need anything near the magnitude of a standard overhaul.I'm located in Nashville, Tennessee and would prefer to deal with a shop face-to-face (can travel out to Atlanta, GA, no problem), but am not counting out shipping my watch out for the repairs to be done.Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
First Panerai - 01000?
I'm deep in the Panerai research after trying on a few on vacation earlier this week. I don't want to drop a lot on one (at least now), which is just as well because I really only prefer the plainest dial versions. I tried the Duo and a couple of others, including an auto, but I really want a manual wind version.I originally stumbled across the 00112 online, which seemed pretty perfect, though out of production now and it seems hard to find. So would the 01000 be a decent option in its stead? I guess my question is, of those two, which should I buy based on the long-term (I plan to keep what I acquire). What I haven't quite deciphered yet is the movement in the 01000.
Which DJ TT can I get for a 3600$ budget
Going to the States in a Week and looking for a DJ TT and I am on a 3600$ watch budget. What could I hope to find in Vegas for that price? In terms of year, model etc. (gave up on looking for a watch from Norway as they are too expensive).
