Looking Time in the Eye: Two New HYT Skull Watches
Skulls are a popular motif in luxury watches lately check out our list of some of the most notable ones and now HYT, one of the most unconventional watchmakers out there, gets in on the act in its own unique “hydromechanical horology” style with the release of the HYT Skull, available in two colorful versions. To create the new HYT Skull Green Eye and Red Eye models, HYT CEO Vincent Perriard gave his watchmakers a simple but challenging goal: make a timepiece that has a totally original look but still maintains the HYT watch brand’s signature style. “Simply taking an existing movement, giving it a vague skull shape and presenting it as an entirely new piece is not really our style,” Perriard says.?The watches, like previous HYT models, use a colored fluid flowing through a thin capillary and controlled by the expansion and contraction of two vertical bellows in the movement to keep track of the hours with the aid of a numbered scale around the dial.
240Q wouldn't wind on my winder
Hi peeps, wanted to seek some insight as to this problem I'm having with my 5327-G on my wolf roadster which is a vertical winder. When I first purchased this watch I placed it on the winder at ccw 800tpd and it worked perfect. However after about 6 months I noticed my watch started dying on the winder at the exact same winder setting. I've worn it on my wrist for days and it seems to keep perfect time. However once it's on the winder it dies in a few days. This is really frustrating me as it used to work perfectly on the winder. Anyone facing the same issue with 240Q calibre?Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Ladies Aquanaut has Quartz movement??
So I was showing my wife some Patek's and she actually really liked the 5067 Ladies Aquanaut- it has diamonds around the bezel. I'm thinking that would be really cool because on occasion we could both wear our Aquanauts. I went to the Patek site and discovered it has a quartz movement. Why do you think this is? I'm guessing maybe it has a smaller case? Is a battery change something I could do or would I have to send to a dealer? Surely I wouldn't have to send to Henri Stern, would I? Anyone with experience with a quartz Patek? Thanks in advance!
I don't like Patek Philippe's slogan
While I am a keen admirerer of the watches that Patek Philippe craft (some of the most beautiful watches ever to see the light of day), I can't help but feel frustrated by their famous slogan You never actually own a Patek Philippe, you merely look after it for the next generation. Sure, most people recognize it so seen from that perspective it does its job. However, it is of my persuasion that once I purchase a watch of this calibre, it is mine to keep. It is in my possession, meaning that I can do whatever I want with it. I can smash it with a hammer, throw it in a lake or give it to a random stranger. It is MY watch, I'm not just a temporary keeper of it. How do you feel about it?
Would you trade a SS Daytona C white dial for a BNIB SS sky dweller blue
I got my SS Daytona C in a white dial in November and have worn it exactly 3 times ,going through this forum posts and seeing the SS Skydweller I am tempted to do a trade for a BNIB SS sky dweller blue Do you gentlemen think it's a good move ? I am on the waitlist for the SD ... and can afford to keep both ... but getting impatient
