A. Lange & S?hne Opens Hong Kong Boutique
After the launch of A. Lange & S?hne shops in Dresden, Shanghai, Tokyo and Seoul, the brand from Saxony has opened its fifth boutique, in Hong Kong. Lange’s goal for the boutique is to bring the precision, quality and ambiance of traditional German watchmaking to its customers in an intimate and in-depth manner. A. Lange & S?hne was founded by Dresden watchmaker Ferdinand A. Lange in 1845. Lange crafted pocket watches of exceptional quality that are today coveted by collectors. However, the family business was expropriated in the aftermath of World War II. Four decades later, after the wall came down, Walter Lange, the great-grandson of Ferdinand A. Lange, resumed the work of his forefathers, and today the brand has regained its place among the leading manufacturers of precision timepieces. Hi all : The newest and most complicated watch I'ver owned is in house. Thanks to all for their kind comments & advise to get to this point. This watch at first glance can easily be overlooked but the more time you spend with it and the hefty manual, you understand the brillance behind it. To be perfectly honest, I bought it purely on asthetics, love the 42MM case and the wonderfully colored cream dial. I love the thinness of the case to house such an epic movement and love the fact it has a open case back to show the breathtakingly decorated rotor. Enough wax-poetic. Here are the pics. PO Decision help
I recently sold my GMT2C and have been looking around for a replacement. In the past I had a 42mm PO and gave it to a business partner. Yesterday I found out it was stolen out of his truck about a year ago. I loved the watch, but found that I liked the oyster bracelet of the Rolex much more to my liking.But I am torn. In my search for a replacement I find myself returning over and over again to the Planet Ocean. I miss the lume. The lume on the GMT2 was great for about 5 minutes - the PO like a torch for a lot longer. And I love the versatility of the rubber and I just recently just started doing searches on the mesh - and I love the retro look! Plus the AR and the matte dial - 9 out of 10 times when I looked at the PO I didn't even know what time it was!So here is my dilemma - I have had larger watches (i.e. Panerai and a couple no name 47mm pilot watches) and while I do like them now and again it kinda drives me nuts having to stuff them under sleeves - especially in the winter (I am
