Hands-on with the Void V02
Not every watch that strikes our fancy is a rugged tool watch or a minimalist German dress watch. No, sometimes curious, quirky watches grab our fancy. Watches that aren't necessarily part of the larger watch tradition. Watches one might find in a museum shop or boutique fashion store. While these watches might not satisfy the horological cravings of the diehard WIS, they do grant insight into other concepts of what a watch can be. Often, if one is willing to loosen their own boundaries of what a watch should look like, or how a watch can be read, these unique, art/design watches can be very enjoyable to wear and own, if only on occasion.Void is a brand that fits into this category. Founded by Swedish designer David Ericcson, for several years they have been producing watches with a distinct aesthetic that draws as much from modern product design as from watch design. What are you drinking with your AP on?
I don't think there's one on this sub-forum. Thought I'd borrow the idea from the Rolex forum...
AP SS Diver or Rolex RG Chocolate Daytona
The time has come to make another addition to the collection and I'm torn between these two admittedly different-styled models:I currently own the following:Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 15400 SS Silver DialJLC Master Control DateRolex Sea-DwellerPanerai 111As I don't have a rose gold in the collection as yet, the RG Daytona seems to be the obvious choice but the SS AP Diver still has this strong allure that keeps on bringing me back to consider it.Your opinions and/or ideas would be much appreciated! Cheers (I've also posted this in the Rolex sub-forum just to gain some balanced opinions)
Incoming, shall I keep it?
So I ended up buying two Rolexes in a weeks time. I am enjoying my TT Daytona, love it. But then wanted to get a tool watch, a dual timer! SkyD was perfect, it is dressy and is the most complicated Rolex! It would be perfect for my job.It isn't easy to get a SS SkyD. I tried the WG SkyD and wanted the SS version instead. I am on the mystical list at various AD around the world, but never got the call. But found one almost 7000 miles away and bought it right away. It was just a lucky day, and the SkyD was just sitting on the case at an AD (I was on the list at this AD as well, but never got the call. On inquiring the store owner said 'he didn't knew they got a SkyD SS'). My sister paid a deposit and held it for me. Another person missed it by 15 mins. Finally I will get to pick it up in 36 hours. I hope I like it as much as the Daytona. But been reading on the GMT master II BLNR and now I want to get that one because of the rotating bezel. Plus it can show three time zones. But I never
