Is Luxury Watch Marketing Failing?
It is a hot late-Summer day in the Lower East Side of people-busy Manhattan, and strolling down the street, I notice the side of a brick building painted with a 12-foot tall advertisement for a luxury watch company. It would actually be easy to miss noticing it above the corner market below, situated at the ground floor of the aging residential structure, and the ad C like so many of its kin-simply has the name of a brand and the picture of a watch, with an arguably tantalizing, yet ambiguous, slogan.Around the planet, in Hong Kong, watch ads litter the streets, buses, and billboards. It is difficult to travel more than a few steps in any commercial area and remove yourself from a line-of-sight view with a poster or sign marketing a watch maker C often with a regional or international celebrity wearing the product. In a dark, dirty, and ill-smelling alley behind the main thoroughfare, the walls are lined with evenly spaced posters for some of the world's top luxury watch makers.Somewhe
Sinn U1 White Limited Edition Watch Available On James List
I don't know how a watch like this slipped through the cracks. It came out just last summer as a limited edition. This is a very interesting and rare Sinn watch that is thankfully available on James List, and for not that much dough. Many of you know of the super functional and durable Frankfurt, Germany based watch maker Sinn. A few years ago they released one of their most style forward watches ever, the U1. It has a few limited editions including an all black, Sinn U Black (not typo, just "U"). Well this is another limited edition, called the Sinn U1 White (sometimes U1 Snow). It takes the almost opposite approach than that of the all back U Black. The White is a high contrast U1 model that is not only easy to read, but really stands out. White is quite a hot color right now for watches, and the U1 Snow capitalizes on that fact with a white strap and dial. The rest of the watch though is in PVD coated black. Combine the black & white look with the Bauhaus style of the dial hands
Vintage Omega Case Tubes
How is a vintage case tube held in place? is it press fit or held with an adhesive?I have ordered all the new parts for the watch pictured in my avatar, but the case tube is not threaded like a Rolex one.(new case tube, crown, dial, hands, strap, gaskets..)
Tudor Black Bay vs. 6 digit Sub fit/feel
Does anyone own the Tudor Black Bay and a Rolex 6 digit Sub? I'm interested in a screen shot of both on wrist AND would like to hear how the Tudor fits/feels on your wrist compared to the Sub. I like the Matt blue disk on straps offered but have yet to see one in person. FWIW, I own the LVc.
