Highlight Watches From WatchTime’s IBG 2014 Watch Collector Events
The sponsoring luxury watch brands for WatchTime’s “Inside Basel.Geneva” series of watch collector events have really strutted their stuff this year. As noted by WatchTime’s IBG event partner, watch collector and aficionado Jeff Kingston, not only did each brand have a broad selection from its collection on display at the opening event in Chicago far broader than you’d ever find at a boutique or other retailer but key new watch models from SIHH and Baselworld that won't be in stores for some months. Scroll down to discover some of the highlights, many of which have been spotlighted in? detail on .A. Lange & S?hne: Lange had all three colors of its new Grand Lange 1 Moonphase (platinum, rose gold and yellow gold). Of course, the luxury watch brand from Glashtte, Germany also had a number of Lange Datograph watches on display, including the three top rarities: a rose-gold Lange Datograph Perpetual (all the other colors have been discontinued); a ros
Concord C1 Eternal Gravity
Concord might have dubbed this unique piece the Time Warp. Just looking at it transports me back a few years to those giddy days of carefree spending. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that the $1.2 million C1 Eternal Gravity was not created with the U.S. market in mind. As we all know, the watch words here (pun intended) are sensible, rational, and reasonably priced. Whereever you live, the one-of-a-kind C1 Eternal Gravity lays down some serious numbers. The case measures 48.5 mm in diameter and 18.5mm thick. The sapphire crystal is 3.3mm thick. Then there are the gemstones. The 18K white gold case is set with 227 baguette-cut diamonds totaling 20.17 carats. The dial adds a further 100 baguette-cut diamonds totaling 1.40 carats and 34 carnelians totaling 1.88 carats. The crown alone sports 26 baguette-cut diamonds weighing 1.30 carats. All together, the C1 Eternal Gravity puts an impressive 403 stones totaling 25.31 carats on your wrist.Inside the ice palace resides the hand-wou
Please help in identifying vintage Omega
Hi guys. Just getting in to high end watches and don't know much about Omegas. I was able to buy a Rolex 1550 at a great price and now I have the bug. I found the watch pictured below at a shop while visiting my parents. I took a pic discreetly to not show I was interested. It looks like a sea master, although it doesn't say it on the dial like they do. Comes with original inner and outer box. The outer box even has the original price tag on it. I tried searching what I believe is the reference number in google but couldn't find much. Back of the box said Omega 6028R/3 17jOne pic below. Any info would help
Is this Patek Phillippe Calatrava a good deal?
I found this Patek on Portero and am considering making the plunge. However, that being said, I am not sure how good of a deal this is. That's where I seek the help of this forum :)portero/brands/patek-phil...802-watch.htmlAlso, how can I date this watch? The description doesn't say when this watch was made. Thanks in advance!
Another "Advice for Panerai Newb" thread
Hi, I've admired Panerai for a long time from afar, but recently I'm becoming seriously interested and I think my next piece will be a Panerai. Seeing pics of the 690 really got me excited...I love everything about it except that my preference would be for a mix of brushed and polished surfaces. Here are some different things I'm looking for in my first Panerai:-44 to 47mm-sapphire crystal (preference for highly domed)-display back-seconds hand-NO date-sandwich dial-no wire lugs-at least some brushed surfaces-preference for manual wind but automatic isn't a deal breaker-preference for full 3, 6, 9, 12 dial but missing 9 isn't a deal breakerI'm open to new or preowned. I'm not sure which case size/style I prefer...I'm planning to visit a boutique to try them out on the wrist soon. The number of different models is definitely intimidating! Any advice on which models I should consider given my preferences? Some I've found so far are 127, 422, 510, 572, and 619...(and the 690 would b
