Pre-SIHH: Jaeger-LeCoultre Duomtre Quantime Lunaire 40.5
Next month at SIHH Jaeger-LeCoultre will introduce the new Duomtre Quantime Lunaire 40.5 – a slightly smaller version of the original 42.5mm watch that debuted in 2010. The new model’s case measures 13.07 mm thick and is 18k pink gold. Production is not limited.Jaeger-LeCoultre’s goal with the Duomtre series is to develop complicated watches that keep time with great accuracy. The goal is achieved by means of the Caliber 381’s “dual-wing” design which features two independent power supplies: one regulated by the escapement and balance, and the other for the time, date and age of the moon displays. This arrangement takes the complications out of the power loop, so to speak, allowing a smooth flow of energy to the escapement. As an added horological bonus, this piece incorporates a jumping foudroyante seconds hand showing 1/6th of a second incrementsplete technical specifications appear below the image.Technical SpecificationsMovement? My First Grail Watch: Ernie Romers
Welcome back to an original watches-dealer feature, "My First Grail Watch." In this series, we ask prominent people in the watch industry about the first timepiece that they lusted after. Today, we are speaking with Ernie Romers, who founded something that likely all of use, have used, and continue to use - the robust watch forum Watchuseekwatches-dealer. Read on to learn what sparked his fire for watches, and what watches have found a home in his collection.watches-dealer (ABTW): Who are you, and what is your relationship to the watch industry?Ernie Romers: My name is Ernie Romers, I am the founder - and previous owner - of Watchuseekwatches-dealer, the largest watch forum on the internet. My relationship with the watch industry slowly built while I was building my website. In the beginning, it was Zenith that supported me by giving me access to Baselworld, as well as documentation about their watches. It owe much thanks to Marc Roethlisberger for that. Later on, I established contact
Went for it!
I had been looking at the 5726 as some of you may have noticed from my recent thread, went to the AD today to place the deposit for it and he showed me the 5712G he had hidden away. This was a watch I'd written off as too slim for me and was unsure about the asymmetric dial. However when I put the watch on my wrist the proportions looked great, actually much better than the 5980 I also tried. Not to mention it was in white gold and the lack of AC was not a problem since I already own a 5205. I think the dial is very nice in person, the asymmetry gives it a technical look, and the slate dial is very reactive to light changes and is very interesting. The case is a work of art! I absolutely love I went home and picked up my fiance to come and take a look, she told me to definitely go for it. So I did and here we are now a half an hour later back home as the very proud owner of a 5712G and 5205R!I have had them put the 5712 on the composite waterproof strap and I think it just looks so goo
Any watch collectors on here living in Singapore? (with a 5711)
Would love if someone can take the time to let me finally try on a 5711 in the flesh.Been trying to pick between it and the 15202 for a while now.I can manage to get it, but not very easy to see in the flesh.I am coming to Singapore on the 12th and figure it's the best shot I have got.Already phoned all the retailers there and no one has them in stock.PM me if this is do-able.Beers on me
New DSSD lugs
Who's got the specs of the bracelet and clasp? Why wouldn't they add that info on the website if that's a new selling point? I was on the fence with d-blue and this may push me over now.
