Features of Rolex Patek Philippe at Florence's Luxe L'O - Hotel L'Orologio
Inside, among the most beautiful watches were transformed into decorative elements and design themes. Each floor of the 54-room hotel is dedicated to a brand of the Frattini collection specific luxury watches: Rolex, Vacheron Constantin and Patek Philippe. By Marianna Gagliardi architect interior design is evocative of the club a men's traditional, using materials such as leather, parchment, polished, mahogany bronze medal and velvet with colours and scents of tobacco. Duplex rooms are especially plush, a restaurant, bar and library all offer comfortable shrines. And they can always give you the time.
Pairs Well With: Anstead Oceanis
We were super excited about the Anstead Oceanis kickstarter that happened a few months ago. We thought; finally, someone is using kickstarter to fund a watch that isn't a piece of tech, but rather a well-designed and affordable watch with styling we can get behind. The Oceanis is a bit vintage, a bit tactical and all around masculine and rugged. The technical dial is balanced beautifully by the steel bezel that sports a fierce, but practical toothed edge. Best of all, it's an auto powered by a Seiko NH36a movement that costs about $400. It goes without saying that we'll be giving it the w&w review treatment soon enough, but we thought that the look of this watch beckoned for a PWW as well. So, we tasked Mr. Dexter Austria with pairing the Anstead Oceanis with an outfit of similar inspiration. Military influence is at the core of each piece in one-way or another, and the outfit comes together to be handsome and a touch edgy.1. Anstead Oceanis2. Rolltop in Olive Waxed Twill by Archiva
Mid 90s Swiss Army Mecha-Quartz Chronograph?
A few weeks ago my Dad, an avid watch-nerd, brought to my attention a peculiar watch from his collection. The watch is a Swiss Army chronograph from the mid to late 90's that he believes was the first chronograph they produced, and one that was only available for a short amount of time. As far as looks go it's not particularly strange. It has the classic Swiss Army case design with a white face, and a fairly normal dial layout. What's weird about it is how it works. First, there is no moving seconds hand. The third sub-dial, which is located at 6, is a date index with a hand that points to the day, which is set by pushing a recessed button on the side of the case. This detail unto itself is fairly uncommon for a quartz chronograph, but what is really weird is how the chronograph works. When you start the chrono, you might find its behavior slightly strange. First, the 60-second register is ticking at half-second intervals. While this is less than a typical mechanical chronograph, which
51300 Accuracy Issue
My bramd new NIB RO 51300 appear to be gaining almost 5 minutes a week during the first two weeks i've owned it. This is way in excess of acceptable standards. Is this common and something that will resolve once the watch 'breaks in' or should a ship it back to AP straight away.I've read a few people post about break in time for their APs but i've never had to do anything of the sort with my Patek, Rolexes or Omega. This is my first AP.
