Rolex Watches Make A Statement In Bret Easton Ellis' The Informers Movie
Most of you know that I actively notice the watches worn in movies and television shows. Rarely do the watches features on the wrists of characters add anything to message of the movie, as they are just part of the wardrobe. I recently saw the movie adaptation of the Bret Easton Ellis' book The Informers, and I have a few things to say about the watches of the film. First, let me say that Bret Easton Ellis is an author I highly respect and enjoy reading. For me, is novel American Psycho is a complex and highly stimulating, almost satirical piece of social commentary. I honestly consider it an American literary masterpiece despite the four unreadable chapters (on music) and some scenes so gruesome even I skimmed over them. Other books of his share the same type of demented Ellis created archetypes, that inhabit a perversely?? romanticized 1980s (most in LA or New York). Vintage Watch Shopping In Japan: Private Eyes, An Incubator For Collecting, Not Investing
Beyond the highly-stylized entrance of Private Eyes lays what can be best described as an anachronistic incubator for vintage watch collecting. Not hyper-speculative, inflation-averse watch collecting, but the type of passionate, reverential collecting that has more to do with a true?respect for old-world design of both the aesthetic and technical sort. While the commodity-level watches on the ground level do reflect a fine appreciation for vintage watches, I was grateful to be shown a selection of the proprietor's personal favorites-some truly stunning examples of watches that he would never part with (and some that he would), that made the trip to this mostly residential Tokyo neighborhood more than justified. 2 OF 45 The bi-level space is situated on a corner of the neighborhood's main thoroughfare. Admittedly, I was surprised by the size of the space, which is large by both vintage watch shop standards?and?Japanese retail standards. On the ground floor (pictu

talk about impulsive, I just bought it
Crazy thing JUST happened. I just got a call from a AD, and before I knew it, I just bought the white SS SkyDweller. It all happened so quick, but when I was in Chicago 2 weeks ago, I found my business partner a D-blue that he wanted after he saw mine. A local AD had just received one the night before, and just by chance, I was there in the am , so we bought it. In talking to the gal I mentioned if she gets a white SS Skydweller in, I MAY be interested. Thinking zero chance of that, and more or less just talking to talk to her, she called this AM, and its on the way to me already. CRAZY.Was not really wanting another watch, and I will see it for the first time in person when it gets here Friday. I hope its as good and outstanding as you all say, cause I own it now.I guess its all timing, as this type of thing happened with my SD43 about 6 months ago at another AD 2000 miles away from this one
