My Grail Faces Competition
I set my goal on acquiring a Nautilus chrono 5980 as my one-and-only everyday watch. I'm several months from reaching my goal, so I have some time to change my mind.I may have changed my mind.I was admiring the 3940 that Stuxnet recently added to their collection. I remember it was this very model that turned my head and opened the door to watches beyond Casio. It was 1982, and I was 15 years young.I was surprised to see the 3940 may be obtained for about the same cost as a 5980. The very watch that epitomizes haute horology for my 30-year disease, err, obsession! Now I'm conflicted. Do I stick to plan A (5980), or work to obtain my idea of the ultimate representation of my long-lived dream? The 3940 hardly seems suited for a T-shirt-and-shorts-at-Disneyland kind of watch. The easy solution is get both but it's not a realistic one for me.Can anyone offer some advice?
