Ticking the Blues: 2 New Girard-Perregaux Watches With Blue Dials
In case you haven’t noticed, blue is the hot color in the watch world, recently appearing all across the horological spectrum on dials, bezels, straps, et cetera. Recently, Girard-Perregaux reminded us that its founder, Jean-Francois Bautte, was one of the first watchmakers to incorporate the color into his timepieces. Fittingly, the brand has honored Bautte’s contributions to today’s watch-design trend by adding two new watches with blue dials and straps to its two vintage-inspired flagship collections, the 1966 and 1945 XXL.The new Girard-Perregaux 1966 watch features a slightly dome-shaped dial in a deep blue hue and enhanced by a subtle sunburst pattern. Echoing the style of the year for which the watch is named, its dial has gilted, baton-shaped hour markers at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock, a double marker at 12 o’clock, and a small date window at 3 o’clock. New Navy ROO - easy colour to use?
Hi,I am brand new to the AP brand, tried some on yesterday and wow, I fell in love!!I love the rose gold Royal oak with leather strap, but I think a better starting point would be a Royal Oak Offshore - lower entry price and better daily watch for my lifestyle. I love the rubber strap on a premium watch, very cool.So I am now considering a few models, the new navy dial + navy strap 26470 - which I have found for ?14k for a brand new one.The others are the 26170 Navy and the 26170 Panda - both costing about ?10k for a used one.So I have a couple of questions.(1) Does anyone have any experience of using this new navy ROO? I tried it on yesterday and it looked amazing, but I had a blue t-shirt and jeans on, so naturally it matched perfectly! I just wonder when using other colour clothes if the blue ends up clashing or if it still looks just as good? How easy is it to use basically I want to know, as I intend to use it as my daily watch and put my YG GMT-IIC to rest for special occasions.(
Skeleton !
Just picked this up with the help of amehta87. He found the piece I found the cash. Had owned it once before, didn't realize what a great watch it was & let it go. Will surely stick around this time, I hope...till the stickers come off. 😭🍻
If you could would you still Daytona?
Posts in the Singapore AD Daytona thread got me wondering. If the 500C were as available as other Daytona's would so many people still want it?
