My impressions with some Omega Basel 2017 Pieces
Last night I attended an event hosted by Omega at a boutique. I have to be honest....it blew the socks off the Rolex event I went to. It was really all about the people there....true enthusiasts of the brand along with some very very interesting guests (how about the guy who is the son of the man who invented the official NASA certified Fisher space pen that the astronauts used, and still produced/used today, talk about an honor to talk to these guys). The food and drinks were a cut above the Rolex event as well and the people there pampered the heck out of my entire family (wife and kids), kudos to Omega on knowing how to throw a party......I also got to talk to some people in real life finally that I've been buddies with on forums so that was fun....and they brought some spectacular rare/vintage pieces as well. I got to the event way early (by accident....I thought it started a hour before the actual starting time) so I actually got to look at the Basel pieces first....I had no i
AQUANAUT COMFORT 5167 vs 5164
Hey mates - I'm looking at adding a 5164 to my collection after giving my 5167 away and despite the larger size, was interested in comments regarding the comfort level of the 5164. Is it as comfortable as the 5167 on rubber ? What about water proofness ? Anyone swim with theirs given the pushers on the 5164 ? Thanks for the feedback !
Wait for Daytona C or BLNR?
Like many here, I'm on a waitlist at a small-mid sized AD for a white Daytona-C. I've been bugging the salesperson with whom I've worked and have gleaned that I'm number 4-5 on the waitlist. She told me that one Daytona had been delivered to the AD so far, and that she had no idea what her allocation would be. She has said repeatedly that she expects allocation to be very modest. The release has made me anxious to pick up my first Rolex. If i were to act now, I'd pick up a BLNR from a trusted dealer. I really love that watch as well, but it's hard to compete with the initial wow factor of the new Daytona releases. Still, if it will be a year till the Daytona would come, I'd be very tempted to get the BLNR. Would appreciate speculation in when i might expect to get the call for the Daytona C and what you would do in my shoes. Thanks.
116618 too dressy for daily wear?
Have thought about the 116618 and wondered if it is too dressy for daily wear? I am a physician who works in a clinic. Also, I think it comes with either a sunburst blue dial or in some cases a flat blue dial with diamonds. Which looks better of those who have seen them? Thanks.
