Reborn Halda Watch Co. to Send Timepiece Into Space
Swedish manufacturer Halda Watch Co. has announced that ESA astronaut Christer Fuglesang will wear a new watch called the Halda Space Discovery during a trip aboard the shuttle Discovery, currently scheduled to launch on August 28. The watch was developed with Fuglesang to meet an astronaut’s requirements, and the trip into space is part of the development process. The watch – to be produced in a limited edition of 128 pieces – will go on sale in December. The Halda Space Discovery consists of a “time platform” with two replaceable time modules: an advanced electronic module, and a module with a high beat mechanical movement modernized by renowned watchmaker Svend Andersen. The electronic time module provides functions such as a 3\axis accelerometer, a particle counter, UTC/MET alarms, and an Earth Timer. The electronic time module case is made of Tecamax, a new material certified by NASA and known for its light weight, high strength, and resistance to aci
Xetum Stinson Review
The Xetum Stinson is a watch that we've been curious about for quite some time.? Known for its uniquely minimal design and Swiss made credentials, it stands to reason that this is a watch that has received a rather positive response from the watch community.? And the Xetum brand itself is quite unique, but without trying too hard.? Located in San Francisco, the company is committed to not only quality design but also sustainable operations, having taken several steps to limit their environmental impact. So we were excited to receive a Stinson for a few weeks of wear and closer consideration.Case: Stainless SteelMovement: ETA 2824-2Dial: Off-whiteLume: YesLens: SapphireStrap: Brown Leather with cork liningWater Res.: 100MDimensions: 40mmThickness: 11mmLug Width: 20mmWarranty: 30 day return / 2 year movementPrice: $995CaseWhat will likely strike you first about the Stinson is its lugless case design – the case is round and the band connects to lugs hidden on its underside.?? My Daytona 116500LN Purchase agreement Contract
I've said on a couple of threads now that I signed a pre purchase contract for my daytona. Well here it is. I've blacked out the AD and the watch managers name.I had no issue signing it and was happy for them to keep the warranty card.It took me three years to get it.... To be honest I think it was luck on my part I'm not really sure I was ever on any list even though I had been pestering them for one.Take from that what you will. I'm not even close to being a VIP purchaser with this dealer however I do have service and purchase history with them.
16618 help needed!
A buddy of mine recently purchased this watch. We got together to check it out today, and there are a few puzzling things, especially with the bracelet. Serial x745xxx. On the inside of the end links it is stamped 46b. There are no stamps on the back of the bracelet, like on some other watches. I'm fairly certain the links screws have been tack welded in with gold. I'm also confused about the back of the case being stamped 18k. The magnification of the date is magnified, but not prominent either. This is my first hands on with a full 18k watch. Is it right, or do I have to break horrific news to my friend?
