In-Depth: A Detailed Look At Early Longines Chronographs, Including The Legendary 13ZN
PH Zhou is a student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he studies economics and computer science. He is a devoted enthusiast of vintage watches – in particular early- to mid-20th-century chronographs. When we talk about vintage chronograph movements, there are many deserving of our attention – from the relatively common Valjoux 72 that powers anything from a Rolex Daytona to a Gallet Multichron 12, to the exceedingly rare and complicated Caliber 13-130 that resides in a Patek 1518 Perpetual Calendar Chronograph. However, as much as it is a sin to claim this for the latter, neither of the two movements we just mentioned are truly "in-house," since the Caliber 13-130 is still ultimately based on a Valjoux ebauche. In fact, the number of companies that produced both watches and movements were few and far between. 1 OF 45 Longines 13ZN in steel C notice the beautiful blued hands and sector dial. My first Breitling - Aerospace EVO Night Mission
It took awhile to realize that this is the perfect travel companion that I have been looking/wishing for....1. Dive watch look and feel2. Dual time zones3. Light and thin4. Alarm!5. Grab and goThe original military strap looks awesome, but per the service centre lady, the lining material is leather. Could someone share if that's indeed true?
Breitling Rubber Strap Spring Bars
Just purchased an OEM Breitling rubber strap for my Galactic II Chrono and I have read that a rubber strap requires a slightly longer set of spring bars. For bracelets 22mm, 23mm for rubber. I went ahead and used the standard 22mm bars that came with the watch and the fit is fine. Am I missing something here?Is there a know issue with using the 22mm bars, sure don't want to take a chance of losing the watch. Can any experts chime in?
