Thomas Prescher Nemo Captain Triple Axis Tourbillon Watch
Thomas Prescher?strikes you as the type of man that knowingly knows something you don't. What this special knowledge entails doesn't seem to matter, but the German-born watchmaker regularly smiles reassuringly with a gleam in his eye that seems to tell you he's figured something out about life that you haven't. It could all just be something about his confident personality. He isn't terribly forward with it, but he isn't shy about reminding you that he, and only he possess certain techniques that make his little machines possible to produce. Once again he releases a watch with his special form of?triple axis tourbillon.Prescher is a compact man who currently lives in Switzerland producing a handful of rather intensely horological items each year. He has a bit of a reputation for being a rogue agent. Thomas does things his own way having a marked anti-establishment streak which seems typical with many independent watchmakers. Perhaps with good cause. For the most part Thomas is an autod
Any reviews Seamaster reduced Torino 2006?
Recently I came across Seamaster reduced Olympic version (Torino 2006) on Sears website. It is being sold for ~$2,200 by authentic watches. It did not say whether it was a new piece. Anyone own or owners this watch or had any experience with it, please give your feedback. The watch can be seen here at Sears website,m.sears/omega-speedmaster...-SPM7825640822
Apollo-Soyuz LE Speedmaster
Hey all,Was killing time this afternoon, and stuck my head round the door of an AD close to where I study - when boredom strikes, what better excuse to take a nose at some watches Taking pride of place in an otherwise slightly underwhelming Omega display (mainly Seamaster 300s and Constellations) was the latest Speedmaster L.E., featuring the meteorite dial. (Read more here) At a whopping 5000 (over double the list price of the standard Speedmaster Pro) it's certainly a serious price. My thoughts? There's just not enough wow factor, not enough to differentiate it from the standard Speedmaster Pro. The dial (especially on the black meteorite sections) is underwhelming, and it certainly lacks the beauty of the Rolex meteorite dials. Yes, it might be limited to 1975 pieces worldwide, but I think you'd have to either be:a) A serious space enthusiastb) A serious Speedmaster enthusiastc) Slightly loonyto take one of the L.E. models over the standard. I'm sorry Omega, but you've missed the
Nautilus strap warning
This is for those who want to order straps for Nautiluses but not from Patek, Nautilus straps have a special titanium construction, otherwise a strap without it will fall off, so the strap maker needs to destroy an original Patek strap, 490 euros, to take out the titanium construction and make a new strap with it, I went to see ABP, they told me it's hard to make so 640 euros, didn't do it as 640 plus 490 was a bit too much, will see when one of my straps is dead, but don't make a strap without the titanium piece inside, your watch will fall, a strap maker who is not honest or who has poor knowledge of Patek might say nothing or say it will be ok, I was at ABP and asked Patek and the answer is don't ever put a strap on it without this metal part, you will regret itHere are a few pics of the straps, you see it's not just leatherP1000835.JPGP1000834.JPGP1000833.JPG
Question about RSC
So I have a question about the RSC's. I have bought a used Rolex Datejust and I wanted to replace the clasp and readjust the crystal as it is fitted crooked. My question is if it is possible to replace the clasp at the RSC and have the work done without getting a full service and also what the approximate cost would be. Thanks for the help and hope you had great holidays!
