Cockpit Companion: Testing The Bell & Ross Br 03-92
Bell & Ross has been making pilots' watches since the company was founded two decades ago. Initially, they were traditional-looking, round watches, but in 2005 it came out with BR 01, a square-case, round-dial watch meant to resemble the flight instruments in an airplane cockpit. The watch is very big: 46 mm across. Bell & Ross, headquartered in Paris (although its watches are made in Switzerland), followed up with a smaller version, the BR 03, which is 42 mm across, and then with an even smaller one, the BR S, 39 mm wide. We tested the Golden Heritage version of the flight-instrument-inspired Bell & Ross BR 03-92. With photos by OK-Photography. Our test watch, introduced in 2013, is a member of the 42-mm family. The 92 is a reference to the ETA Caliber 2892, which was used in the BR 03-92 series when it was first introduced and is still used in many of its models. (The Golden Heritage itself contains the Sellita SW 300, which was designed to be used as a substitute
Mark Carson Ka La Ladies Watch On Kickstarter
Sponsored PostIn 2010, I started?Individual Design (now marketed as Mark Carson) with the goal of producing uniquely designed, high quality watches at affordable prices. It took 2 years to develop and begin deliveries of my men's Ka La ("The Sun" in Hawaiian) watches. Ever since those first customer deliveries in 2012, people have been asking for a ladies version of these unique watches with their signature case design and spinning seconds disk. With the design goals of a more modest size and price point, I began designing a Ladies Ka La Watch and I am now ready to begin production as soon as funding is secured. With a unique design inspired by the sundial, these ladies watches are elegant enough for a night out, while their contemporary design makes them suitable for daily wear. The retail price will be $400 when these watches are sold at selected fine watch and jewelry stores.OK, enough with the marketing-speak. New to forum/collecting
Good Evening!I am new to TRF and have just started collecting over the past year. I was fortunate enough to receive 2 vintage Omega pieces from my grandfather. When I was given the watch the leather band it was on was not the original and was fairly destroyed. My family had basically forgotten about the pieces. The plexi (i believe its plexi) was all destroyed. I took it to a guy local to me and he polished it up, cleaned it all up internally and it is now almost flawless. I have the reference number written down at my office so I will have to post that tomorrow however i was just wondering if anybody had any information they could provide me with about the piece by looking at the photo. I believe it is from 1974. Any estimated value as I am curious.Thank you all in advance.SK

Wanting to join the Panerai camp
I am looking to replace my Breitling Steelfish and am seriously thinking about Panerai. The reason I sold the Steelfish was because it was just too heavy (listed at 122 grams-not sure with bracelet or not) and it was constantly sliding into my wrist bone. I could never get comfortable with it. I currently have a Submariner that I love dearly although i would not want anything smaller on my 7.5 wrist. I am looking at an entry level Panerai like the 111, 112 etc. since I really like the clear caseback. I don't know how the watches feel nor what sort of wrist presence to expect. I also don't know if a leather band will change the way it feels on the wrist versus a metal bracelet like on the Breitling. Or should I be looking at a titanium model? As always y'all's expertise is welcomed.
