Watches NEWS
New to AP Club
Finally got my dream watch today,AP 15400. My watch journey is fairly recent, coming from Tags and Omega, logical next step would have been Rolex until ironically I came across TRF.I was introduced to the whole new world of Haute Horology. I was torn between Rolex submariner ceramic and 15400 but on trying them out in person there was no comparison.AP is a thing of beauty and submariner is more of a tool watch.I still have not owned rolex yet but someday..IMG_0903 by gokuap, on FlickrP1000632 by gokuap, on Flickr
The Omega project
Just started disassembling my 166.041 from 1968, calibre 565. It's pretty dirty.I'll update this thread with pictures and info along the way.
Yellow Gold Speedmaster '57 Experience?
From the pictures on Omega's website, the yellow gold (on a leather strap) Speedmaster '57 looks great!Does anyone have any real world experience with one? Any pictures? This would be my daily wear watch.Thanks. LSwoboda
5711 vs 5712 blue - different?
Does anyone own both watches or have seen both at the same time? I saw a 5712 in person a while back and thought that the dial was more grey blue (rather than pure blue) than I thought it would be, even under lighting. However, yesterday someone showed me their 5711 in person and the blue looked absolutely amazing, even better than all the pictures I've seen on here. Are the blues on these two just different? Or maybe just my eyes playing tricks
5159r thoughts and a few pictures
I can't get this reference out of my head. Today at a local AD, I tried on the g and the r. I never imagined I'd be interested in a gold-colored watch, but a dress watch with a brown strap, and for the 5159r in this instance, it just works. I've read past posts about why this reference was bought, and then subsequently flipped. I tried it on today, and while it's thicker than some other PC Pateks, it wears well. It's not top heavy, IMHO. It's elegant. For what watch did others flip this, or what did they buy instead?Present and prior owners of this watch, your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks. Here are a few wrist shots from today.
