Angular Momentum La Boulle Classic Damascus Watch
Here is another artful creation from Angular Momentum that has caught my eye. Using beautiful Damascus steel, the La Boulle Classic Damascus watch combines the unique type of metal work with Angular Momentum's common disc display dial and case. The dial is purely minimalistic. A black sapphire crystal has a window opening to a white color disc. There is a line applied to the window so that you can read the time. The disc moves once around the dial each 12 hours. It may not be the most precise way of reading the time, but it does give way to a world of possibilities when it comes to what to do with the rest of the dial. Sometimes, Angular Momentum dresses the dial up with verre ??glomis painting on the back of the sapphire crystal. Sometimes, you simply have a watch design where the case and dial together make for an artistic statement. The latter design concept helps to frame the La Boulle Classic Damascus watch. What does that mean, exactly? An art watch versus a standard watch> Or
Consider A Nice Silver Faced Watch For That Formal Tuxedo Occassion
Yesterday, I attended a very nice family wedding, which of course is not typically news for the blog, but this time there are a minor detail that sparked a worthwhile mention. The groom, who I had met for the first time on the day of the wedding, instantly impressed me, making me feel extra good about his entrance into the extended family. The reason for my quick fondness was the fact that he was wearing a rare watch that I owned as well. Of course, I could not dismiss his impeccable demeanor which might have also had something to do with my approval.Surely you are each aware of my rich capacity to continually discuss the German Marcello C. brand of watches. Having a few of these excellent timepieces, I realize that ownership of a Marcello C watch is a rare treat. There just aren't that many of them out there, and in the US you need to be actually looking for the watch to find it. So you can imagine how excited I was to see the groom wearing a shiny silver faced Marcello C. Nettuno 3 w
Helson Spear Diver Review
Helson's modern interpretation of the Seiko 6105-8000 is a well-designed, sturdy, and street-ready dive watch offered at a reasonable price.Whenever Helson announces the release of a new model, we here at worn&wound can't wait to get our hands on it. That anticipation is built on the foundation of well-designed and tough-built tool watches the young, Hong Kong-based brand has released in the past few years. Readers may remember our previous reviews of the Skindiver, Sharkmaster 1000, and Shark Diver, all of which impressed us with their build quality and value for price. For these reasons, we were excited to get the Spear Diver in for some wrist time and a full assessment. The Helson catalog is essentially split into two groups of watches: sturdy, contemporary divers built to easily transition from desk to deep, and modern recreations of iconic dive watches from the past. The watch we're looking at today falls into the latter group. Having produced popular homages to classic divers
How deep can you scratch ur AP ?
so yesterday I dropped my iphone on my watch while driving it was a really small drop that surprisingly scratch my watch and crack a bit of the phone protector. It was extremely painful to see and then today When wearing my AP there's a steel part of my backpack that bang it a bit and had a small dent on the lug This really destroy my day to be honest. I'm wondering if anyone has a before and after pic of their AP because I'm really curious on how deep the scratch is that still possible to fix or will i have to remove the lug? Which means the whole case? How do u guys live with the marks? And do any of u have dents on ur watch or only scratches? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My Experience at the Royal Oak 40th Anniversary Exhibition @ Singapore
Set in the exotic venue of the historic Tanjong Pagar Railway Station, the Royal Oak 40th Anniversary Exhibition came to the last leg of its world tour in Singapore from 10 - 14 Oct 2012. Thanks to AP, Timezone and my AD, my partner and I were very fortunate to be invited to the cocktail receptions to witness and participate in the wonderful celebration of one of the most iconic horology creations in our time. Naturally, the highlight of the exhibition was the 100 iconic Royal Oak timepieces and invaluable memorabilia dating back to the beginning of the 70s. However, we were equally fascinated by the exciting atmosphere, artistic deco, and the wonderful cuisines and live performances. Of course, for a watch enthusiast, the best part for me was definitely the opportunity to interact with the watchmakers at the Workshop! Here are some pics, mostly taken by my iPhone 4S, to document my experience of the event. Enjoy! 1. It all started from here... 2. Invitation to the opening recepti
